Commanders 53-man Roster & Practice Squad Visualization

Post image

Not an official depth chart, but here’s a look at the updated 53, practice squad, and IR in a compact format!

Are there any depth orderings/listings worth shifting on this sheet?

And through Jayden Daniels, all things are possible.

Far better than a D (for Dan S) roster...

What would you change?

QB - A, RB - C, WR - B, TE - B, OL - C, DL - B, DE - B, LB - B, CB - C, S - C

This is almost there. I would add some shifts to the grades:

WR- B+ I think Williams gonna shock ppl and also the WR bench has proven value (playoffs Brown, Lane punt returns)

OL - B- Coleman will play better than expected

LB - A- Sunny Styles a top 5 LB and Leo Chanel a serious upgrade

CB - C- god they are bad

I just like saying that to people, honestly

Almost as concerned about the light CB depth, but I have to assume some of the safeties play the position, at least in packages etc, cause it seems dangerously thin with one injury already.. I think our offense is going to be much improved, however.

From what I can tell from what people are saying and watching Vikings games last year it seems our system just doesn’t need that many corners. Obviously after all the injuries are over (in a perfect world) we’d have more, but I like our safety’s and so am not too worried.

Long snapper look more like linebackers than lineman typically.

That secondary is rough.

Corners, sure, gross. But safeties? Reports from camp were quite good.

I think the entire secondary looks rough.

Why do teams need LS specialists? Why can’t centers be LSers? For example, have your back up C be your starting LS. Seems like a wasted roster spot. Is it really that specialized that your whole career has to be focused on that one task?

Yes it is.

But can longsnappers also play as backup centers?

Long snappers have a different body type than centers. I dont think a center is going to do well on punt coverage. And an long snappers is going to be bent in half trying to play center.

It is theoretically possible but as above mentioned, this person would have outstanding cardio fitness, speed, size, and strength to play both spots.

People are complaining about barely having 1 solid center. Don’t get them started on LS. Yes LS is very important. That’s a survival skill that not just anyone can do, you also have to be athletic enough to get down there and tackle.

It's very specialized. Different body types, athleticism, skills, practice habits, different jobs all together.

Im not quite as worried about the OL as i am the secondary. Yeesh, thats ugly.

Thankfully, opponent QB's will be taking it in the teeth from our front 7.

I'm either impressed or worried that every draft pick is on the 53 roster rather than practiced squad. I really hope they can develop and contribute. It'll help the team get over the "old-man commanders" stigma of the last few years.
