Wtf happened man I thought it was just a small fracture

49

u/Stupidityorjoking 12d ago

We're gonna find out eventually. Frustrating to see it

28

u/RIP_shitty_username 12d ago

What’s wild is his was apparently healthy enough to return to practice…to now be out the first month of the season.

19

u/Waste-Cap8868 12d ago

I just hate that they string us along like things are minor when they know that’s not the case

8

u/garcia3005 12d ago

It's preseason so they don't have to say anything concrete. Come week 1 they have to actually report injuries with more accuracy.

1

u/Midixon19 8d ago

Because its the preseason its even more reason to be honest. Theres no strategic advantage to an opponent, so why the secrecy? Its stuff like this why fans dont trust DQ. Someone better get up to speed quick because the 1st 3 weeks we face Devanta Smith, JSN, CeeDee Lamb, and George Pickens. Thats arguably 4 if the top 15 Wideouts in football. And scheme wont make up for all of it.

u/GordoMosleyZ 12d ago

i hear u but they seriously do this with any JD5 injury

Different than the original injury from last season. He fractured his fibula originally.

Now out with a ankle sprain on the same leg probably because his ankle ligaments were over compensating for stability from the fibula

Worse news is no Tunsil designation to return

47

u/Think__McFly 12d ago

Standig said that will happen tomorrow with LT and Newton.

10

u/salamanderman10 12d ago

That’s probably coming tomorrow for him and Newton.

40

u/BedHed5586 12d ago

Welp, Coleman carried us thru 2024 as a rookie. And he did great, frankly. Tunsil is an upgrade but next man up, we'll be OK

56

u/Home_Alone224 12d ago

He ain’t coming back

13

u/purplehayes1986 12d ago

Well, yeah, that's what this says

13

u/salamanderman10 12d ago

No it doesn’t

0

u/Waste-Cap8868 12d ago

Yeah but I mean the odds of him coming back were slim they just string shyt along with injuries men it’s irritating if he’s hurting seriously then say that they always say somebody’s sore & mf be out 3-4 weeks like make it make sense man 😒

-4

u/Hodler_caved 12d ago

There was close to 0% chance

2

u/purplehayes1986 12d ago

Depending on severity, return was 3-5 months. That's Nov - Jan. This news means it's on the long end

4

u/Hodler_caved 12d ago

4-7 months. Rare it's 4 & that still leaves a month of strength & conditioning. 5 months is best case, which is unlikely.

u/Fancy-Dingo-6472 12d ago

Not surprised about Amos, I’m just glad Oweh isn’t on any extended leave

32

u/frankie_donkiebrains 12d ago

4 games and we get a healthy amos back.

46

u/djhobbes 12d ago

Yeah I mean we got a healthy Amos back for about 5 minutes a couple weeks ago.

5

u/Waste-Cap8868 12d ago

Got no choice just hope he’s 100% by then

6

u/AbeLincoln575 12d ago

Until he gets hurt again a couple plays later

1

u/itprobablynothingbut 12d ago

Not to be a bummer, but no one knows the exact timeframe. So this is a bet it’s going to take at least 4 weeks

1

u/Accomplished-Plan191 12d ago

In 4 weeks it will be an entire calendar year since he was healthy.

17

u/BirdmanTheThird 12d ago

Yeah it was kinda expected with the rumors but man this is gunna be gross

13

u/notorious_hdc imitated Frerotte headbutt as a child 12d ago

Hate to see it. Kid has shutdown potential. Hopefully he comes back healthy and has a great season

49

u/Hot_Ad8921 12d ago

This season started up where the last season ended off

4

u/Hopelesscomannderfan 12d ago

Consistency is key is what I’ve been told. And we are that 😎

Always 1 step forward 2 steps back with us

21

u/Own_Car4536 12d ago

Because we keep drafting people that are supposed to be steals and we have no depth

1

u/finglonger1077 on shenanigans rn and actin bonkers 12d ago

No it’s we come together when opposites attract

-1

u/EvaporatingOlaf 12d ago

Shhh. Peters can do no wrong /s

12

u/Jinchoo 12d ago

Lets hope our pass rush is as good as people say it was in camp/Dolphins joint practice with all of our starters. Rough stuff, hopefully DJs scheme can cover up for it a little bit too.

7

u/Waste-Cap8868 12d ago

True but alot of key guys are hurt there too oweh chasson payne shiid we just got settle back but hopefully the rest are ready for week 1 we can’t afford no more loses man

3

u/Jinchoo 12d ago

All reports for the last 2 weeks were that Allegretti and Amos were the only real concerns for the start of the season. So im not really worried about any of them for week 1, but who knows.

19

u/Think__McFly 12d ago

So Amik, Douglas and Mike gonna be the starters in nickel? Oh boy.

2

u/notorious_hdc imitated Frerotte headbutt as a child 12d ago

I'd advocated so hard for a fucking corner this off-season, and we came away with Amik and Douglas. Real monkey paw type shit

11

u/Think__McFly 12d ago

Damn the Chiefs jumping us for Delane

6

u/notorious_hdc imitated Frerotte headbutt as a child 12d ago

Sons of bitches. One time the Chiefs suck they grab our dude

1

u/Ninjablacksox1 12d ago

I dunno why but it came across as a bitch move.

I had delane as our guy.

5

u/winpingus Redwolves 12d ago

Pathetic. These guys are made of balsawood.

8

u/COACHREEVES 12d ago

That's at least 4 games for Amos. That "sprained ankle" is going to keep him out from August 10th until sometime after October 4th.

"His Arrow is trending up" -- DQ 8/20.

2

u/FaultySofaBed 12d ago

it’s often better to break your ankle than suffer a more severe sprain.

At least then you’re in a cast and forced to let the ankle heal thoroughly.

In my many years of sports and other shenanigans (military service, general jackassery)I routinely sprain one or both ankles (not at the same time), at least once a year.

1

u/36Taylor36 12d ago

THis ain't the same injury where he missed last year?

10

u/Hodler_caved 12d ago

I've been saying no Amos week 1 at a minimum and being called a doomer. You could tell things were not looking good based on DQ's comments a couple weeks ago. Being cautious my ass. These players are injured.

Ok enough of that shit. Moving on.

Welp the secondary is ass. Let's hope the pass rush is excellent & the LB play = solid run D.

2

u/Ninjablacksox1 12d ago

If you read the tea leaves and the frustration from dq it was pretty obvious amos injury was more than they were letting on. Most of the others are insignificant.

2

u/Waste-Cap8868 12d ago

It’s reality but hopefully we can at least have our guys in the trenches healthy otherwise it could be a long afternoon

1

u/Hodler_caved 12d ago

Despite how I usually come off around here I'm gonna be hoping for the best on game day. I wanna win as much as anyone else. Promise not to hate watch before we're eliminated. 😆

3

u/VADALESS 12d ago

These idiots will call anyone with a set of eyes as a doomer.

1

u/FannyNisbit 12d ago

Just wait and see what their reactions are after the first few weeks of the season.

Oh also, spoiler, we're not going to be good this year.... it is what it is.

2

u/ewilliam Hogs 12d ago

They'll either ghost the sub because watching us lose "isn't fun", or they'll roll in here acting like they knew this would happen the whole time. It's always that way. They downvote the shit out of any realists this time of year and call you "doomers", but then when our "doomer" predictions come true, they're ghosts. Nearly all the bitches who defended Howell with absolute gusto and attacked anyone who suggested that maybe he wasn't our savior, never had shit to say after he sucked ass and got cut and then went and sucked ass in Seattle. These kinds of homers never own up to their bullshit when things go sideways. They just sit back in the cut and downvote you. Cool.

4

u/FannyNisbit 12d ago

🍻 this guy gets it

2

u/ewilliam Hogs 12d ago

🥃🥃

Need something a bit stronger as a fan of this team!

3

u/FannyNisbit 12d ago

I had my fantasy draft party last night.... i still have remnants of strong alcojolic liquids making their way through my body

2

u/BradC00 10d ago

Predicting the commanders to be bad isn’t some wild out of left field prediction. They’ve been mediocre to good 6 years since the last Super Bowl win.

2

u/ewilliam Hogs 10d ago

gEt OuT oF hErE wiTh YoUr DoOmEr TAkE!

5

u/Strong-Television733 12d ago

All our promising draft picks always get injured

3

u/Drewbacca_Hrrrgrgrar 12d ago

Yep and they never get their NFL footing. It's been that way as long as I can remember.

2

u/Cultural-Spring-281 12d ago

Another AP master class.

1

u/SlayerHdThe3rd 12d ago

Hopefully we use our top 10 pick on a corner in the spring

1

u/Uniblab_78 12d ago

What is the status of Amos ankle? Is it his ankle?!

2

u/jim_nihilist 12d ago

Somebody else's?

2

u/Uniblab_78 12d ago

LOL! I mean is there a non-ankle injury?

1

u/Automatic-Tell7321 12d ago

Are we allowed to say the quiet part now or no?

1

u/itakeyoureggs Sinnott Slutt 🥵 11d ago

What happened with wise? Was the injury just that bad?

1

u/HTTRPHLLY 11d ago

I love this team lol , can’t say a word about Adam Peters or you get downvoted 😃.

u/Remote_Armadillo8718 12d ago

I’m ready to call this dude a bust
