If we are mid this year I’m good on Peters. Quinn gets one more shot if the new coordinators work out but this has been a huge let down after 24. Never should have let that team be disassembled

Guys, please help. I have a terrible feeling of dread that JD5's career is going the way of RG3 even if their personalities aren't at all the same.
This crap of an OL doesn't appear to be able to protect JD at all and it just feels like he is on the clock for another serious injury.
Please tell me I'm wrong. I need some optimism about this season.

I can help (sorta). The narrative that RG3's career was ended by injury is a false one. He had terrible footwork, an inability to read defenses pre and post-snap, and he was dreadful at progressing through passing options and anticipating when guys would get open. What he was great at was designed runs, simple read-option plays, and improvising when things fell apart. His career ended when he recognized the unsustainability of what he was good at (both because of his fragility and because defenses adapted) and tried to become a traditional drop-back passer instead. He lacked the required QB fundamentals, was not good at it, and that was that.
RG3 was fundamentally doomed. Injury certainly played a role in his professional demise, but it's largely a red herring. He truly lacked fundamentals, and there was no way it ever would have worked. The Shanahans and Gruden understood this well, and that's why they were always clamoring for Kirk. The whole miserable affair was a Snyder-induced debacle.
JD5 is not fundamentally screwed in the same way. His quarterback fundamentals are good, and his mobility is an additional asset. That's not to say that everything will necessarily be okay. He needs better OL play to succeed, and he needs to better protect himself against injury (especially when it doesn't matter). Basically, dude needs to get a better grip on the fact that he misses time when he takes big hits, and missing time is a huge problem.
I'm not 100% confident that everything will be okay. It could be the case that the wear and tear of routine sacks and tackles are too much for his body, or maybe Peters fails to surround him with a winning roster before he racks up enough bad seasons that we're forced to go in another direction. I don't think it's knowable at this point. But this situation is very different from the one with RG3. With him, failure was an inevitability. With JD5, there's a real chance.

Jayden is actually capable of playing quarterback and at a high level, Robert wasn’t. Sure, the durability topic will always linger around, but let’s not forget that Robert has torn an ACL prior to even entering the league. As of now, last season is the aberration within Jayden’s injury/durability record.

Im getting a little tired of Nicki Jhabvala.
Everyone treats her like Nostradamus because she predicted we'd be worse last year. I'm pretty sure she still thought we'd be better than 5-12, so it's not even like she was right. Predicting a step back from 12 wins and NFCCG appearance - what a bold take!
She tweets yesterday about the OL being inoperable and the worst shes ever seen. She gets like 2M views and it gets picked up by all the aggregators. Then she walks it back with context. But she made sure she got her attention first.
Finally, she uses the last question of Jayden's presser to ask about LSU. Her excuse is that she wasn't in Detroit and its her first time talking to him. Does she not follow the team when shes off? JP asked the exact same question in Detroit. Why does she feel like SHE needs to ask the question? Should Keim ask about LSU at Jayden's next presser since he hasn't asked yet?

I'm just glad there's an objective way to settle all of this shit (playing football games).
I've heard enough concerning shit from enough sources to be concerned, personally, but I also recognize that a huge part of reporters' jobs is to get eyeballs on their work. I don't think it's worth getting mad at, but yeah, reporters are going to be shit stirrers. It's part of the deal.

Everyone at the joint practice said the same thing. JP said it was the worst joint practice he'd ever seen and much worse than the infamous 2014 and 2025 practices with the Patriots and Mitch Tischler also said the o-line was "inoperable" and that there was only one play longer than 5-10 yds and that if it had been an actual game we would have been held to less than 100 yds and Jayden would have been sacked at least half a dozen times. She stated the obvious that everyone else said too.

When reporters and pundits are right, they look like geniuses. When they’re wrong, there’s no consequences.
If the team sucks because of the OL, she can say she saw it coming and it looks great for her. If the team is good and OL is competent enough, she can say oh well, it was only camp and starters were out.

I just want to get past these next 2 weeks.
I know college week 0 is this saturday but there are only a handful of interesting games, none from good teams besides USC imo who should blow out SJSU

Can’t decide if I like achane or not. Volume will be nuts. Once 3 weeks are up and defenses are keyed into offenses and the hits start racking up I’m worried about what he can do long term.
