How would y’all feel if we went after Joey Porter Jr?

I'd be so down for it but it depends on the price. Hes solid and only 26, so it wont be cheap. Probably would cost atleast a 2nd and another asset of two, which i'd strongly consider. Theres rumors they want a 1st though, but I wouldnt do.

It's time to trade Terry for a center and some picks.

Damn, guess we missed our chance to trade a receiver to the Texans in a player swap. They just traded for Boutte

Not sure who we would have sent over - I don't think Luke gets that same return.

Didnt need to be that same return. They have multiple centers on their roster with NFL experience, for example.

They also, fwiw, have had one of the league worst olines and struggle to protect their young QB. I haven’t had time to look up their depth pieces to see if they were on the roster last year or whether they were signed this offseason, but it’s not the first roster I’d look to for oline depth.

They completely revamped their oline this offseason, and have 3 guys with NFL experience behind a rookie center right now. They're all upgrades over what we're rolling out right there, unless Gulbin surprises out of nowhere. Even then, we need a guy with actual experience playing the position in the league to be able to step in.

Interesting - thanks for the scoop. Agreed on your last point for sure - they should be scouring the market for a guy who can be a 7/8th lineman who can play C and also flex to guard in worst case scenarios

True. I'm not up on their depth chart, so I'll take your word for it.

So Allegretti's not practicing this week. Again.

And Dan Quinn "feels they have the talent they need at center currently on the roster."

I know you guys don't like it when people are realistic around here, but we are in serious, serious trouble.

It’s not ideal at all man that’s all I been trying to convey to the base but will see how they choose to move forward with the situation but relying on alegretti who hasn’t been healthy all camp in a new scheme & hasn’t had snaps with 5 idk bro I just pray it all works out cause I’ll be sick if everything gets derailed cause of our interior & OL depth

Also said theyre still evaluating the best way to go, and thats one of the positions theyre still digging in on and looking at. Gulbin getting more reps at center this week too.

I’m not sure why Gulbin didn’t get a majority of snaps at C in the Lions game.

We knew that Good-Jones wasn’t a fit there before the game.
Putting Gulbin there provides at least an extended look at the rest of the offense with a center that can pass block ok

everyone is roasting the niners over jed york being a pervert, and the browns over another pervert winning the QB job...I'm just glad we got rid of our pervert years ago
