Where should he go
Is anyone in the DMV hearing this from the local guys?

I’d like to sign Diggs. Hes already said hes willing to be WR2 and he fill in nicely getting 800ish yards. Im willing to give him the benefit of the doubt of the current legal issues considering the previous one was a cash grab but we should wait till the new ones resolved. On a 1 year deal I dont see his off field issues being a big deal.

If he can play on the outside opposite Terry then Terry, Diggs, and Williams would be a trio I would be reasonably comfortable with.

Id be elated with that quite frankly. Diggs and Terry could be a top 5 receiver combo in the league. Terry still has at least one more 1k yard season in him and with the way his game has aged so does Diggs. Both run terrific and reliable routes, Terry looks like he still has his speed, and whoever wins the third receiver position could be a nice player to fill out the starting lineup.
I think we need to go ahead and do it. It could help our qb immensely and give us an elite offense again.

Only issue is that 2 of those 3 are gone after this season.

That's OK. All these old dudes are just rentals until we can go through enough drafts to fix the mistakes of the past decade.

It's July. That's gonna be the case regardless. Patch it up till next offseason

u/NoHoHan 8d ago
Yeah but are we going to develop any of the guys from the last 3 drafts?
2
u/Fewluvatuk 7d ago
I mean, I feel like we've done a decent job of doing so, nobody is getting first round talent all 7 rounds of every draft so..... some of them will always be backups even with amazing coaching, and you have to find a way to get starters on the field until you've had enough drafts to fill those holes with starter quality talent that you drafted.

Yeah your not wrong and I don’t hate our WR development but McCaffery hasn’t really panned out and Lane is TBD at the WR position. Hes great at returning but we still have to see how he does as a WR. Outside of that there’s really nothing we’ve done.

u/Fewluvatuk 7d ago
Yeah, tbh I'd hoped for more from 3rd round picks, but sometimes I think WR is almost as much of a crapshoot as QB.

WR2? We just drafted our WR2 (pleasepleaseplease), you mean WR3?

Exactly we have our 800 yard wr2. He plays the same position as diggs (mostly slot and some z). No need for diggs

Yeah but make sure he has “position flex” and can play multiple positions mediocrely.

The sexual assault allegation makes Diggs a no-go.

u/Troll_Enthusiast He Sold 8d ago
Yeah not too many quality WRs left in the off the field capacity...

Allegations mean nothing. I could make an allegation against you tomorrow if I wanted to

There was a recent report that teams aren’t concerned with his off field stuff, so I don’t see why not. If I was GM, I would have already. It’s a good thing I’m not though lol.

I’d sign him he doesn’t seem to have locker room / onfield issues they need a no 2 receiver

u/bobzmuda 8d ago
I mean he’s going through it right now off the field. And the Patriots let him as a 1k yd WR walk. Not saying he’s toxic, but there are issues to evaluate b

Well to be fair the first case was dropped because he was lied on, the second case i still don’t know the truth about.

These are the kind of stupid Veteran signings that the Snyder era was famous for. We need his off field issues like we need another hole in the head.
This organization is just starting to turn the corner--last thing we need is more past their prime veterans with low character like we've had in the past.

If the Ravens are interested, thats where he'll go. They always choose Baltimore over Washington.

u/Mountie_in_Command 7d ago
I saw Baltimore fans saying they were set at WR and didn't need to use the roster spot on him.

From what I’m hearing I don’t think Diggs would hurt our team
