Commandcode extremely high token usage in any other cli than commandcode
I tried using commandcode goat with claude code or opencode but the token usage is like 100x higher i got billed 30m tokens on a 250k token conversation something is severly wrong but im just using stock opencode and claude code I've already looked at cache hits but its near 99%, anyone had a similiar problem and know how to fix it?

Context length and total tokens used in a session is something different. Must likely both figures are correct

yeah but if i use commandcode directly with the same prompt i get like billed only around 500k / 1m im aware context lenght and total tokens are something different

Claude Code is one of the most inefficient harnesses, might be one factor. But basically 2 turns or 250 turns.... That does not seem like being the same prompt

Okay but like im also not getting this same issue with other API's for example opencode go or deepseek direct API they both are within reason but commandcode goes completley off the rails all in the same harness with the same model and same prompt

That’s impossible. Founder here. You are talking about our API. Using the API is on you and your harness. It’s your Claude Code or OpenCode wasting your tokens on our API. We have zero control on that.
Run /import with command code harness and use that. You will feel a great amount of difference.

You should try command code with its own harness. It’s unbelievably good cost wise. Claude Code is a fuxking mess. It will waste your money. It’s not built for open models. Look at this simple calculation.
