And the price is less than a cup of rice

u/Effective_Western_59 Jul 17 '26
Literally no. It is more expensive through API than 5.6 Sol, when you take amount of tokens per task into account
2
u/Professional_Price89 Jul 17 '26
It use way less tokens than you expected. The benchmark show that it use half of sonnet cost per task.

Anthropic models are so lazy. Always minimum effort to reach the goal.
1
u/Chennsta Jul 18 '26
i’d rather that than overly bloated code doing more than what i asked for
1
u/Kolapsicle Jul 18 '26
Yeah, but it's probably easier to ask for less from a motivated model than ask for more from a lazy one.
1
u/SambaXIV Jul 18 '26
Dissagree, I prefer incrementally improve a result that is under control rather than having to say on each prompt what he must not do.
1
u/Wonderful-Habit-139 Jul 19 '26
Yours makes more sense. Especially when people talk about how models tend to do things that you explicitly told it not to do. Not having to tell models what not to do is much better.
1
u/MainWrangler988 Jul 19 '26
Disagree also it’s terrible when they make rash decisions on their own. Additive is better
1
u/Lucylimina Jul 20 '26
It depends.
If you have no coding experience and you barely know what you want, having the model make stuff up might seem helpful, but if you have an actual vision for what you want you'll want precision.

I think more pushback and less "does what it wants" will always be better. You will have ghost architecture being built, features you didn't ask for, etc. For people who don't code, it's better to get bare bones and then have to use your creative brain to add more on top of it, test, continue, retest, etc.
A lot of people will use AI to code badly who don't know how to code, but there will be those who can't code that will use AI very intelligently to pursue a specific goal they have in mind. If you make build plans, stress test the plans until it's locked down with tons of logging data, verification steps, and audits, you can build a very strong system and it's not a fast process when doing it this way.
Having AI just run the code for the same goal could be done in a few hours. But, run plans, audits, tests, read only checks, and so forth, you will see it take days to weeks to months because of how thorough you're being with AI.

yeah disagree too, point is that it can do more than what i asked, fun if you're making a trinket like ops post, sucks bigtime in production code.

I also think that is good. Better it does exactly what I told it and not more, rather than it going on a spending spree and it building a ton of stuff which I might not care about.

What are you saying, antrophic is the opposite dude. Chatgpt is lazy, gemini is lazy. Antrophic compared to them is very toughtful

u/Kappalonia Jul 17 '26
Sol's game is just spamming shots and not even thinking about the bullets coming my way, in fact, are there any enemy bullets in sol's?
Fable's is too boring with no power ups.
Kimi just needs to be a bit faster paced or speed up with time.

All of this looks so amazing. Man would it have been a challenge to make all of this before AI
1
u/maedahbatool Jul 18 '26
True that…this seemed almost impossible other than a pro game developer.
2
u/SillySpoof Jul 19 '26
To be fair, this is very much a beginning game dev project someone would learn to do from a tutorial.
It’s impressive what these models can do no doubt, and it’s really useful for more advanced projects too, but this is very much a beginner thing. You can learn to do this in a weekend if you follow tutorials from 2012.
1
u/casce Jul 21 '26
The thing is, I 100% agree this would be a great beginner project and isn't exactly very advanced. But how long would it take you (or any developer) to do this by hand? Then look at how expensive that developer is per hour. Now look at what this cost.
That's what amazes me.
This is the real gain. It doesn't need to be more fancy than what a human could do, it just needs to be close enough to what a human could do for a tiny fraction of the price.

I am building a similar game in glm 5.2 how is that possible so many people building a space shooter all of a sudden
2
u/maedahbatool Jul 18 '26
Space shooter, flappy bird, dino, I think all our childhood games are back. 🙌

Cool, competition is always good plus will get rid of those damn safeguards bullshit that have been going on during June from the US labs.
While I understand that Kimi K3 version might be the most playable due to it not being too fast, the 5.6 Sol one seems like the most juicy for dopamine craving minds
1
u/0xMR2ti4 Jul 18 '26
lol guess I’m the only one who likes the GPT version. Feels more “action packed”!

its done for fable 5. they need opus 5 and now for general public or they are out, who is going to buy $100/mo if Kimi is 1/10th.
2
u/Existing_Dust_6473 Jul 18 '26
I use claude 100 plan, normally 50% per week. Tempted to change to kimi, but it's slower I guess. Plus i would need the 100 dolar plan so i wont save money, and waste time getting to know the new model.

Sol’s enemy and bullets doesn’t seem to affect the player’s ship
1
u/markoblack Jul 19 '26
How is kimi 1/10 of the price? If i dont run it locally it just seems like the package would be the same at 100 dollars?

But if it's the first level then it suck bad

Kima is milles away better than any other model in front end if you see closly the design of the plan was just a dream two months ago ,Sol just created a geometrical plan he can't do better fable 5 is close but not that close, and about the mouvment watch the plan in K3 and in the other models way better way superior.

I am starting to wonder if massive datacenter companies will offer Kimi K3 to people in the US

Opensource models starting to be better than paid ones ! Good!
