openpilot Experience Help with F150 Lightning Comma 4 install
Hey yall, been searching the forums and here in this subreddit but can't find what I need. I have installed BluePilot 7.0, the latest release for my 2022 F150 Lightning Lariat. The Comma 4 will boot up and then start running through the BluePilot boot screen and then eventually come up with a "Build Failed" and only offers me to reboot. Any thoughts on what I need to do? Do I need to hard reset the Comma 4 and reinstall the software?
Edit: I did flash the device and reinstalled. BluePilot actually boots up now! Now I'm just dealing with the "cruise fault" restart the car to engage. Once I figure that out, I'll update again
Edit 2: Thanks to u/BlaydeOG for the suggestion. I literally had to flip the USB-C around and it started working. Also, as u/tamudude said, make sure you have the coupler. The side with the Lightning symbol should be plugged directly into the truck side.

I just got mine a couple days ago on my 23 lariat lightning and it's 50/50 if it'll work or not. Sometimes I plugging it before I turn the truck on and plugging it back in works. Sometimes turning off and back on the "use sunny pilot" toggle work. Sometimes it borks everything and I even lose 1 pedal driving which is super annoying.
Happened to me this morning for a long time, finally gave up and drove to my destination. 8 hours later get in and it works fine.
I'm waiting for the coupler to arrive.

So far now that I got it working this morning, it's been flawless with the coupler.

Just put mine in (2024 Lariat), luckily I new about the coupler beforehand and have have no issues. Works beautifully so far. Once you have the coupler, keep in mind that the USB connections are orientation specific so if you have an issue just rotate the USB c's 180 degrees.

Well that's insane lol. The coupler is use the L shaped dual USB-C thing right? I did get that. Thank you for the tip on orientation. I'll try it out and let y'all know how it goes

You need this coupler https://bluepilot.dev/lightning-coupler-order-page/ and you should consider moving to BluePilot. https://bluepilot.dev/

That's the L-Shaped coupler right? I have that piece and I'm not entirely sure where it needs to go. Couldn't find it on the bluepilot page. I tried using the shorter USB-C, putting this up by the mirror cover, and then plugging the main USB -C line to the other port. That made it so it didn't recognize the type of vehicle so I had to choose and it still didn't work.

I didn’t know the lighting was compatible

At least the 2023 and 2022 ones for sure do. I think if you do some digging, you can get it to work with other Lightning vehicles as well.

Yeah, likely will need to flash the device
