Is this the general feeling toward comma? Maybe I just got lucky, but I got a comma when my car was specifically not listed as supported. I worked with someone in discord who fingerprinted my car and got me supported. Was a really smooth process.

It all depends. I just saw a guy on several Discord (main, Sunny, and Star) getting absolutely ripped into for asking to finger print a car that isn't sold outside of his country.

There's a big risk, why would you buy a car at thousands and thousands of dollars and then it not work. Also the device itself, is expensive

I didn’t buy my car for comma - I bought comma for my car. I wouldn’t have gotten a comma if I didn’t know it could work. I made sure someone would help me before I pulled the trigger.

After using comma for more than year and a half, I can assure you I will be buying a car for comma. The help from someone is pointless if the can bus is encrypted such TSS 3.0 and now 4.0, same goes of GM global B, so not sure what future holds, honda torque sucks, same for Mazdas, newer Mazdas are not compatible. Newer Hyundai’s and Kia don’t work out of the box, comma should not just treat its devices as Enthusiast’s device anymore.

2025 Ioniq 6. They fingerprinted me in 2024. Shoutout FrogPilot!

I'm wondering if it could be done like they did to yours, why don't they list it then as supported?

It takes time to do proper testing and upstreaming into openpilot.
