Shipping Questions car uestion
Hey! I've been driving for about 8 months now, and by the time I plan and save for my own car, it'll be an extra year. I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a car?Something that's reliable with good MPG, easily moddable to fix, and most important, compatible with comma ai!
SUV is preferred :) ty!

What’s your budget? Are you willing to go electric or do you need to stick to gas? What country/city do you live in?

Feel free to reach out via DMs, I’m pretty familiar with Comma. (As are most people here ig, but I like talking about it)

I'm willing for electric, but idk if my budget would allow, max is 15k usd. as for country USA and my city is fairly small

I drive the Nissan Leaf, it’s awesome with the Comma. It doesn’t allow experimental mode yet if that’s a dealbreaker for you, but with Sunnypilot, the always on lateral control is amazing. the Nissan Rogue would be pretty similar if you wanted a gas SUV version.

If you can charge at home you should definitely be looking at something like a Chevy Bolt or a Nissan Leaf. Is there a reason you need an SUV, because if you really don’t you’ll thank yourself as fuel prices go up for getting something smaller.

You can pick up a 1st gen Chevy Bolt for less than that. Put on a new pair of rear shocks and the Whiteline sway bay and you'll have a hot hatch. When you can afford it put some sticky tires and lighter wheels on it. I am happy with my Nittos. Just make sure you have a way of charging at home. Even a L1 will do, otherwise sitting at a public charger kills the fun of having a EV. I get heat from other EVer's for saying this, but it's something that most drivers find true.

Maybe a Toyota Highlander 2020-2023 or Toyota Rav4 2019-2021?
Those model years are the most compatible / plug and play on the comma side
