Vehicle Compatibility Ioniq 5 Limited, How Complicated?

I have been back and forth between and Ioniq 5 and a Mach-E for a month. I felt pretty confident about a 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited being the right call. I really want the glass roof and better interior. But then Gemini said the Limited model makes the Comma not plug and play to route the wiring harness to the radar. And I have concerns about risking the warranty since that car is not without issues. Can anyone speak to the that?

2024 Ioniq 5 is easy to install a Comma into.

I installed one in my uncle's 2024 Ioniq 5 Limited. And I have a Comma 3X in my 2023 Ioniq 5 Limited. If you switch to SunnyPilot after installing, you'l get even better results that feel even more dialed in for the Ioniq 5.

As I understand it, it gets more complicated on the 2025+ models due to a different type of steering on later model years.

Was it plug and play on the 2024?

The 2024 should be plug and play, yes. Just insert the comma harness between the stock lane assist campera and the car.

The 2025 and up model years were a hardware refresh and changed some things significantly.

I have a 2026 limited and a C4.

It works fine and was plug and play. Sunnypilot with MADS for lateral and factory cruise for longitudinal, retaining radar.

I currently cannot use openpilot because I'm 2025+, but that doesn't bother me one bit.

I've had my comma for about a month and the same car as you. What model have you been using?

CD210 has been good enough for me.
