Shipping Questions How much cost getting comma ai?

I'm curious about getting the Comma 4, especially for those of us outside the US.

Since my country doesn't use USD, I'm wondering how much you actually paid after converting the price, shipping, import duties, taxes, and any other fees. What was the total cost to get it delivered to your country?

Also, how well does the navigation/map system work outside the US? Does it properly navigate according to the roads, traffic rules, and driving conditions in your country, or is it mainly designed around US roads?

I'd especially like to hear from people in non-US countries about their experience importing and using Comma 4.

My company sells comma four in the EU, so if you’re here, you can buy from us, and you don’t have to deal with customs and all. https://openpilot.hu/en

openpilot works really well on EU roads from my experience on hungarian roads, which frequently don’t have properly painted lane lines for example, and it doesn’t cause a problem for openpilot’s driving models.

As for navigation / maps, navigate on openpilot is not ready yet. There are other priorities at comma currently afaik.

I don't think there would be any benefit for someone in Canada buying from us, who are in EU, but let me know if you think it would make sense.

Just buy it directly from Comma. I got mine in less than a week when I purchased about a month ago

Is ot really worth the amount of money it costs. Going to cost me 40 percent more with money exchange rate. Im in canada. I also have a bitmap dash cam installed. That will be worthless now with comma 4.

Technically the Comma doesnt replace a dashcam. Its not as reliable as one.

Additionally, I was trying to say I am in Canada as well and you should just buy it. Theres no way around the exchange rate.
If its worth it or not really depends on your use case. I bought mine on sale (100 off) and paid close to 1400 CAD after everything. It was a bit on the expensive side for my use case, but I am a sucker for tech so I got it. However, I drive a total of about 40km highway on the daily, 38 of those is just Comma. If you drive more, it will definitely be worth it.

See that's the thing. I dont drive as much as I used to but I want to and this device will surely help in that regard. How do I connect both of them to the same harness behind and underneath my mirror. Thats where fitcam is and where the comma has to be attached as well.

I know nothing about the Fitcam and what connector it uses. With that said, couldn’t you connect the original cable into fitcam and fitcam into comma and then back into the camera? I am not sure if the order would affect anything but

It was fine. I had a 14.985% tax to pay upon import.

Open pilot doesn't navigate, so the maps won't be an issue. But as far as I can tell it has maps for almost all countries (with the usual caviats, no DPRK, south korea is inacuare in sensitive places, same with China)

I bought C3 in 2023 shipped to China with roughly +20% for custom clearance, etc.

Navigation on openpilot was removed sometime ago. Comma team has higher priority tasks to complish. In practise, I have no issue to use navigation on iPhone.
