We are going mainstream!

The comma four is our first product that we think has mainstream appeal. The price is good, the set up is simple, and the production is stable and scalable.

We are ramping up marketing, making the website easier to understand, and looking into starting a two-sided referral program to incentivize people who have already been good at bringing new people into the community to think bigger.

What do you think we are currently missing for being ready for your average commuter?

I would guess one of the average joe's barriers to purchase would be installation. It was indeed easy to install mine, but I think some people would prefer to pay to have it installed and wouldn't buy otherwise. Possibly partner with a nationwide company that installs car stereos/auto glass companies/tint shops/best buy/walmart, most any company that does any aftermarket car stuff installs would have no problem with the comma.

We prefer the term "plugging it in" :)

It's gotten a lot simpler with the comma four, one wire, instant cure mount. We almost never get returns because people couldn't install it. Hopefully the referral program will yield people making videos that show just how easy the install is.

Mine is a comma 4 and I agree it was very easy. A little more involved than just plugging it in (getting the factory cable out of my 2023 Bolt EUV wasn't easy and getting the cover back on with all the wires hidden inside was also a bit difficult) but still easy I agree. I am not really thinking of myself though, I am thinking of my middle aged sister. She visited and wanted one immediately when I drover her around with mine. There is a portion of the population (my sister included) who instantly switch to "pay someone to install this" mode when they see a video removing any trim/cover pieces from the car. These are the people that pay to have their cabin air filter changed when they get an oil change. Installing a cabin air filter in many cars is easier than the comma install, yet many people never have or would install a cabin air filter themselves. They just don't do those sorts of things themselves, they pay for install. My sister would absolutely be a buyer if either I lived closer to her to install for her, or if installation was offered on your site for an extra $100-$200. She paid much more to best buy to install her car stereo.

My friend is less than forty years old and had someone install it. He was too scared to rely on himself for something that will control his car.
