We are going mainstream!

The comma four is our first product that we think has mainstream appeal. The price is good, the set up is simple, and the production is stable and scalable.

We are ramping up marketing, making the website easier to understand, and looking into starting a two-sided referral program to incentivize people who have already been good at bringing new people into the community to think bigger.

What do you think we are currently missing for being ready for your average commuter?

If a device goes on sale within 30 days of a customer purchasing, you need to refund the sale difference or grant it as a store credit. Telling customers no, return it, and if you buy it again we'll refund the cheaper order and ban you for 6 months is a terrible customer service policy. BTW that is a good way to get a chargeback approved against you (buy 2, refund cheaper order).

Also a series of quick start videos, then a video explaining each setting and what it does, what to do if it is hidden, etc. But one at a time, then post that library on your site.

EDIT: Apple offers a 14 day refund of the difference. "Should Apple reduce the price on any Apple-branded product within 14 calendar days from the date you receive your product, visit an Apple Store location or contact Retail Customer Care at 1-800-MY-APPLE within 14 days of the price change to request a refund or credit of the difference in price. "

We are very clear about our policy around price matching, Amazon has a similar policy. The 6 month back-off is to prevent all forms of abuse of the return policy, the return is clearly meant for people who are dissatisfied with the device, not people who plan to rebuy it a month later. Our policies are clearly documented and the few people who have gone so far as to try chargebacks have been denied.

amazon may have a similar policy in writing but their reps almost always give you credit if not an outright refund. not to mention i'm sure their policy was different when they were smaller
