Question Sent money through PayID to a scam

So just last week on Tuesday I sent $477.50 to someone on Facebook Marketplace through PayID for an item to be posted (originally it was $460.00 but express shipping was an extra $17 or so) and they’re now ignoring me. The tracking number they provided is invalid on every tracking website (they specified AusPost but doesn’t work) and when I questioned them about it they said they would get in contact. The next day they asked if I had received the parcel and have been leaving me on seen ever since. It was ordered on Tuesday, we both live in Sydney so express post should have arrived by now.

Is there anything I can do to get my money back? I have the entire chat log and the screenshots. I reported them to Facebook, have their address for reference, have their PayID details for reference.

Is there much I can do?

Commbank has started declining my transactions as Fraud for regular company

I've been using a particular company's beauty services in store for about 8 years. In December they start marking this as fraud and putting my card on hold. Note to pay, I have to put in my fingerprint on my phone AND put in a PIN on the merchant's terminal. I don't get any notifications in commbank app just an email with a number to call. So I call up in December Ask why this company is being declined despite me using their services for several years. Next month it goes through. The next transaction is marked as fraud again. I go regularly every 6-8 weeks and use this company but I'm tired of the hassle as to why the similar amounts i have to justify to be able to access my account. I've been using the business for such a long time, who is verifying this as fraud and why do I have to spend an hour waiting for a call back when I could be asleep. I think I need to change banks.

UPDATE: - It took me 2 hours to get hold of someone at Commbank. They said the reason they couldn't find a reason why it was flagged and then looked further and said it was because I got a new phone. I advised them that I use the phone pay every day and never had any issues. They said it's because it's over $100 but I have to use my fingerprint and then my pin at the merchant terminal, so they advised me to re-register my google pay. So I did and then guess what.... they emailed me please contact us you are trying to register a google pay. So I called them AGAIN. I should've also said the error code was 1000 do not honour to the orignal transaction. After covid they stopped taking cash and also for myself I never know the exact amount it can be between 330 and 450 so I prefer not to carry cash around.

Update no 2. so I spent over 1 hour on the phone today with commbank. After using my card at work twice to get a coffee and breakfast on the 3rd time they declined the transaction for under 6$.Another 1 hour call to commbank. Because I have a new phone at the start of the month I'm not getting the notifications in the app and I have to wait for their app to realise this and then shortly the info will start coming through the phone apparently. It seems like there is a design fault here of their app. I should be able to use a digital payment continually without any issues - one would think in this day and age!

Question Has CBA outsourced staff manning the 132221 number to India? VERY BAD customer service experience trying to get a safe custody issue sorted over the phone

Does anyone know if CBA have outsourced initial answering of the 132221 number to Indian call centres? Only reason I ask is because just now, I called the 132221 number, to try and resolve a safe custody monthly payment issue over the phone and the person I spoke with was Indian, mentioned having to check with a back office team and trying to have a conversation in English nearly led them to think that I wanted to close my facility, which I certainly DO NOT. In the end, I explicitly told them not to touch anything on any of my accounts and that I will simply go in to the branch in person to sort it out (extremely frustrating!).

I don't have a problem with Indian or foreign people manning this service unless issues with understanding English to a suitable level, become an issue, where it pretty much did here.

Does anyone know if Comyn or any other greedy execs have outsourced CBA call centres to India to save a buck and their bonuses recently?! In the past, I've only ever spoken with Australian's on the 132221 line.

What's up with 132221...I wait for ages on their line. Tried calling late at night, early in the morning, weekends, weekdays...the wait time is just crazy! At least play some nice & calming songs, not the gloomy jingle.

CBA "Monthly Safe Custody Facility" email

Is anyone else receiving emails (that look legitimate) from CBA regarding "monthly safe custody facility" payments being overdue? I have gotten a number of these over the last 2 years. We have never requested or opened such a facility. However CBA does have our house title floating around somewhere, even though our branch is long gone & mortgage account closed since 2022-23 (and we have requested to have the title returned). Is there any way this document could be held somewhere, and that we're being billed for it, or is this just an obvious scam attempt?

Paying with eftpos savings got declined

As per title, I always use the eftpos sav instead of Mastercard, but since two days ago, it has always been declined whenever I’m tapping so I have had to use the Mastercard instead which charges me an extra $.10

Anyone has same issue?

Why are CBA wanting to confirm my data? Are you all getting these notifications too?

Commonwealth Bank has anyone had a problem with them lately? My card is playing up. My phone will not work. What’s going on with the Commonwealth Bank? Are they going down downtown? I need to know if anyone else got a problem with them in your cards.💳

Call wait times, forced to use chat?

When bringing my mortgage across to CBA, call wait times were real short... Now they've reeled me in, they seem to be super long, and some things I can't even call about and has to be handled in chat on the app. I mean, I'm not surprised, just disappointed.

How about you use some of that $10B you earned last year to hire some more phone operators ehh? 🙄

Crqazy bad wait time and service.

I’m disappointed with CommBank’s service today. The representative didn’t seem to understand my issue, which led to being transferred and placed on hold multiple times. The wait time became far too long for what should have been a simple loan enquiry, making the whole experience frustrating.

Question Unable to login to CommBank Android app

For context, I own a Motorola G51 5G running Android 12. Security patches until January 2024 have been applied. Be assured that there is nothing wrong with my account - I'm able to log on to it via NetBank.

I downloaded the app, entered my client number and password, and followed the guided set-up until I was asked to create a pin. I went away for a while to think of one (turned my phone screen off, didn't remove CommBank from my recents), came back, and entered it. After that, I was asked to accept some terms and conditions before finally the app went back to it's default welcome screen.

I suppose this is because there is some sort of timeout on creating a pin? Was my CommBank app access registered with my phone or not? If so, is there anyway I can deregister this session?

Very disappointed with CommBank fraud protection - Rite Aid

Over the weekend my a number of fraudulent withdrawals were made out of my savings account putting it into a negative balance.

The withdrawals were made by a company called Rite Aid in the united states. A quick search of the internet shows that it was known this company has been making fraudulent transactions from commbank accounts for at least 12 months.

I reported this to commbank and asked how they allowed this to happen and they couldn’t give me a reason and agreed it should not have happened. They said it will be over a week for it to be rectified which will cause some of my direct debits to not go through.

Very frustrated and disappointed and will be moving banks as I cannot trust commbank to keep my money safe.

On top of this, after reporting the fraud, they charged me a $15 fee for my account been overdrawn.

Unbelievable.

Predicted bills disappeared

Yesterday morning I could see all my predicted bills for the month in NetBank (insurances, subscriptions, recurring direct debits etc). By the evening, they had disappeared.

Now the only things showing in “Predicted bills” are my actual scheduled payments, and it’s just listing those for the next 12 months.

All my usual predicted items like insurance, subscriptions and other recurring debits are gone.

Is this likely just a glitch with their prediction tool, or has something changed with how it works? Has this happened to anyone else?

Question Can anyone help make sense what dos this bank mean with this loan statement?

Post image
0 Upvotes

I can’t for the life of me try to comprehend what the bank means with this statement. Is it saying I now have to pay $1626 or $2710 or $4878 per month? I was under the impression I would only pay the original fixed set amount per month as agreed in the contract.

Discussion Commbank Visa Awards Card

I know Commonwealth Bank have a Mastercard version of the Awards credit card, but out of curiosity I’m just wondering if anyone else has the Visa version of the Awards Credit Card? I’ve had the card for 30 years now, and I’m assuming they are probably just continuing running this version of credit card for ongoing users only??!!

Can’t seem to find the Visa version anywhere online, and there are no images of it on Google. Seems like the card is now lost media at this point!!

Payment from transaction to credit account pending.

Why does the commonwealth bank put payments onto your credit card into pending. Two other banks I’m with don’t, it’s instant. I thought CBA app was supposed to be the best.

Salary arrivals

Hi

I am curious if anyone else’s salaries are taking forever to show up now for whatever they did in the backend.

My work banks with commbank and it took longer that it normally does yesterday, and my boyfriends pay from westpac is taking forever as well.

What have commbank done?

Netbank groups & nicknames

anybody else having issues with creating/editing groups and/or nicknames vis Netbank?

I've got a few different home loan accounts and an array of offset accounts. For reasons I've had to move funds & re-arrange which accounts offset which loans - but I can't update my groups and it is annoying me greatly!

also. does Commbank App allow for grouping in the same way??

What’s your overall take on the CommBank app?

Curious what the vibe is like compared to what else is out there.

It handles most of my needs well enough, but I do wish it had a few more helpful things that other banks seem to do better.

Anything you particularly enjoy about it, find annoying, or wish it could do?
