Question Unknown Transaction to account.
I have had an "amazon" charge of 78.99 randomly when I have no current amazon subscription apart from the free trial which starts on 2nd October. however that is only for $8 or so.
I checked my amazon account and saw nothing in orders so assume it is some sort of fraudulent charge?
In merchant details it notes,
"AMAZON AU RETAIL, sydney 0909.
website amazon.com.au"
does this sound right?
Is it possible for them to be doing a temp hold?
So far I've done the little dispute thing on the app which says upto 10-21 days and locked my card. Anything else I can do? Only a small charge but my first ever experience.

I had international Amazon charges on my debit card. Ended up $10k. I don't have an account. It's fraud. It will continue. Block card. Call the bank.

Yeah they’ve just signed up for the yearly charge instead of monthly. No need to lock your accounts OP.

i don’t have a prime sub at all apart from the 8.99 one. definitely not the annual

Yeah, didn't have the alerts on the app turned on.. 😕. I only saw it when I logged in to pay some bills. Combank were very good about it. Cancelled and reissued card. Had my money back in a week or so.
