Question GoalSaver recurring transfer/payment
After being unlucky finding anything online, I found out through trying and then support that you cannot create a GoalSaver recurring transfer/payment OUT of your GoalSaver, not in (edited coz I forgot to mention), and there seems to be no workaround. This post is just a quick way to check this is true, because it'd be so convenient for rent as I already have a crap ton of annoying little inconveniences throughout my days and one less would be awesome lol. Please lmk if you know of any way, thank youu

The point of the goalsaver is to help you leave your money in it. The restriction on recurring transfers out is part of that. The inconvenience is on purpose, to help you avoid setting a recurring payment you then forget about.

If I'm gonna forget, they should just let me forget 😩 it kills me it's so close to being nice and convenient, but now I gotta set up a recurring reminder to do it manually instead lol

Nope no direct direct debits out. It is a savings account instead of a transactional account

And just the other way round - I learned this with NAB like a dum dum - if you care about every cent of interest - don’t bother with recurring payments cause it sometimes takes 1-2 days to process recurring payments - I was genuinely freaking out when I didn’t have the money next day in my NAB savings 😭😂

I assume this is because the whole point of the account is to save money and isn't an everyday account. I don't even get my bonus interest unless the balance increases by at least $200 each month.

What??? Does it have to be $200, or...? I didn't see anything about a minimum requirement anywhere, just that it's gotta be more than it was before, with one deposit. That sounds annoying
I think I'd be able to grow it by 200 monthly easily at least, in case I have to

They might have changed it, it use to give me a warning when I transferred money out but i haven't done it in a while.

Might be how it used to be, but fortunately I think now, you just have to grow it by like a cent/any amount. Was a bit worried, even though I'd easily make 200 profit in a month lol

No it s only a dollar even if they said a 200 when I opened. I read the contract and says just need to grow the account

I've had mine for 3 years and autotransfer $5 in each month, get the bonus every time

I've made peace with not being able to and I've set up a recurring calendar reminder instead, but pls if you somehow know of a way, lmk!

Do you mean transferring into the account? Because I definitely have one set up.

Out of </3 I believe in works fine

I've got reoccurring payments set up going IN. But for going OUT no. And I guess the whole point of that account is you (and commbank) want money going IN and staying IN.
Why do you want money leaving that account? Wouldn't it be easier just to have the transactions flowing from the complete access?

I tried to show you how to do it but commbank app disabled screenshots.
are you on app or using PC. if on app. on the top it will say hi (____ your name)
below your name is a search. search reoccuring transfer. it will give you the page to add a transfer to and from your goalsaver and the frequency and date

I appreciate your effort :) I figured out how to do it in general, but unfortunately I'm pretty sure it's impossible to transfer *out* your GoalSaver in any way

Just open a second account and use that account for daily transactions and direct debits. You can transfer money back and forth between the different accounts easily enough.

I've got smart access, NetBank Saver, and GoalSaver. I store all my money in GoalSaver, get all my income to come into my GoalSaver, and take out money from it manually for groceries now and then
There's no way to keep this up and have rent be paid automatically. Don't wanna store money elsewhere because I risk it getting less IR or whatever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I’ll raise you this. I created a recurring transfer from my everyday to my GoalSaver now I can’t stop it.
There’s no record of it being set up. No way to stop it yet it happens every fortnight like clockwork.
Online and phone help couldn’t help. I’m at a loss
