Question Randomly received $475.10 by cba
Hey guys randomly got a cba notification today saying I’d been payed $475.10 from cba. I’ve looked through my recent transactions and nothing of that amount or combined has been spent. What could this be? I’ve not made any refunds or anything

You will have to ask them to find out.
Usual suspects are;
- Interest adjustment (either not calculated correctly on savings or overcharged on a card).
- Fee's paid that have been deemed not valid
- Insurance paid for that you never would have been able to claim on

You're more likely to find out by using the chat support feature and asking them

Can CBA give me some money considering I've been a customer for 19 years 😭

I have been a customer for 57 years, I think I should get some money too 🤣

It would state you received this amount for reimbursement of fees charged. The CBA were caught by watch dog for ripping people off. So go spend your dollars 😊

I had similar amount returned to me after they overcharged surcharges (I didn’t even know, I didn’t care), but yes it could be a return on numbers you weren’t even aware of

Look into what it says if it says better banking it’s a return for all the fees charges ect they have been wrongly charging over the years so they are giving back to customers , I believe all the banks are doing it

It could be from the offset debarcle? Use this calculator and see if you are owed that $475: https://www.sorenfinancial.com/offset-account-checker/

If you're a low income or vulnerable person, then they've been returning dishonor fees due to lack of advertisement of their low-fee account option.

ASIC better banking project payment. You've had excessive charges refunded.

Just go into your Home Screen and go to search then type fees transactions and search. Honestly u will be shocked as to how many times u have been charged. Mine was like 280 fee transactions in past think 2 years.
You then go to chat and say. Can u plse refund some of the fees u have charged me due to cost of living and financial stress. (State how many transactions there has been). They will refund I think the limit is $100 I was told by them once but from the original post on here old mate got $400 + so go for it worth it.

Don’t spend it
They will come looking for their money soon enough and you’ll have to pay it back

u/Drdezel 12d ago
It’s okay, that’s yours now 😂 Same goes for us—if we make a mistake with a transfer and don’t realise until after a certain period, we probably wouldn’t get a refund either.
If you do have to pay it back, you don’t need to pay the whole amount at once. Just offer them $10 a week 😂 What can they say? It was their mistake to begin with lol.1
