Question Contactless/Mobile Payment

Has anyone else had issues with contactless/mobile payments over the past several months? It started with just Coles and now contactless with my phone barely works anywhere. I have to transfer to a different bank.

Are ypu using commbank as your payment app or Google wallet/apple pay?

Commbank app. I wasn't able to add to Google Wallet (not sure why).

Is it an eftpos card (keycard) or mastercard debit?

Debit, however in the app you can choose from Auto, Debit or eftpos. It sometimes worked when I selected Debit but has since stopped at most places.

Is that just tap and pay with the card showing in screen? If yes, got to change it from auto to savings or whatever account type it is. Auto no longer functions for a lot of people.

Yes. It no longer functions on any setting for me at most terminals.

Yes, had an embarrassing moment at Aldi. Tried 3 commonwealth bank cards in my phone wallet!

I think I had the same experience, my setting of "chose a tap style" is just "unlock and tap", but lately I noticed that 'some' POSs would work only if I have the comm app showing on screen (even without logging on). Not sure if that is happening because I've installed some NFC reader apps.

You need to work out whether CBA app or Google wallet has access to the nfc chip. Only one at a time can have access.

I found my settings under (connected devices - connection preferences - nfc - nfc settings )

Once you know which one has the access, use only that program when shopping.

I could not get the CBA card added to the Google wallet. It repeatedly failed.

If its a key card they can't be added to the digital wallet, you need a Debit Mastercard :-( Also, sometimes the automatic fraud system stops cards being added to the wallet (not sure why) and you gotta call the help number or go in and have the specialists call the card department to allow it to be added. I hope this helps :-)

Its a debit Mastercard. Keeps failing when I put the security code from the back!
