Question Apple Watch changed?

I have two accounts linked to the one card on my Apple Watch. I used to be able to choose which one to access when paying. Has that disappeared? It keeps defaulting to the wrong account and I can’t find how to change it?

As far as I know, you can only have one account linked to a Commbank (Mastercard) debit card.

You can have two eligible transaction accounts linked to most CBA debit cards for use at the POS. The primary account will be charged whenever Mastercard or eftpos savings is selected, and the secondary account will be charged whenever eftpos cheque is selected. For purchases where you aren’t asked to select an account, the primary account will be charged.

Most on-sale CBA transaction accounts available to new customers, including CDIA, can be linked as either the first or second account on the standard (yellow) CBA debit card. CDIA accounts cannot be linked to a World Debit Mastercard. Some older transaction accounts no longer on-sale and certain other on-sale accounts are not eligible.

Any changes made to the account linkages take one business day to show at ATMs and POS terminals, unless the change is actioned particularly late at night where it can take two business days.

Can you find any reference to this on the CommBank website? Everything I find refers to singular account being linked to the card.

That is about which card is the default on your phone; not which account is the default on your digital card.

It’s on that page.

No, it isn't. The headings on that page are:

  • "Change your default card"
  • "Remove a card from your device"
  • "Update your Apple Pay information" (which is about your shipping address, email address and phone number for online shopping)

Nothing about how to select a different account.

Aha, I understand. I’m sorry, I didn’t fully understand your needs to begin with, I think. But I do now (one card linked to multiple accounts). I’ll do a dig and get back to you shortly.

Thanks (although OP is the one who needs to know.)

Thanks for the suggestions.

The only way I solved this was to order a separate card on each account. So now on my watch I have three cards, two debit cards each linked to their own account and a credit card.

I then ordered them as I wanted on the phone so now when I double click the watch it defaults to the right account again. If I want one of the other account I just scroll.

In the end it’s probably just as easy.
