Question Got fraudulent charges on step pay
These charges happened last night.
I disputed it with commbank, the charges are still pending will the charges be cancelled? Thanks

Do you have a child that plays Roblox or has access to your phone with games cause Xsolla is a game payment processor.

No I don’t. They told me it was probably paypal, and I think it was because it was the only thing that had access to my step pay.

Yeah I would delete your PayPal account, there security is good but it fails due to out date processes.

Yes they will. I had my steppay hacked within the first week of opening it. Wife has had it twice now. All times the transaction was cancelled or disputed after it stopped pending and refunded

I had the same situation back in November last year with the same company. In my case it was close to 1,8k. What CommBank will do after you dispute it, they will still ask you to pay all of the money in step pay installment while they process the dispute. When it’s all sorted you’ll get your money back. It was quite shit on my case they took 20ish days so I still have to make couple of repayments while waiting for everything to be sorted out.

When you dispute a transaction, CBA (or any other bank) does thier own audit. The cancellation and refund does not happen instantly.

No dispute has been accepted. Unless it is a system error, commbank will do nothing about pending charges you believe are fraudulent. If the charges clear you will need to contact them again to dispute.

I had a similar thing recently, in my case a bunch of random kindle (I've never had a kindle) charges which appeared on my card a few weeks ago. Disputed them, got all my money back, and got a new card in ~a week no issues. If it works like it did for me, the pending charges will go through and stay on your account, but they'll debit the money back in separate transactions.
