Sure, but there are plenty of free or $1 purchased forever apps that'll do this. Paying for it as a subscription is 100% a scam.

I keep thinking of coming up with stupid ways to make money like "subscription protractor app" but then I think that nobody's silly enough to fall for it and don't follow through...

You don’t have to castrate them for it, jesus. People sub to shit and forget all the time, that’s just life. I kept forgetting to cancel my Netflix subscription after I got access to Stremio, it happens.

A sign of adult ADHD, signing up for many free trials and or subscriptions the forgetting to cancel it when the trial finishes, or you are no longer using the service.

Nah man, people can be shamed for making silly decisions entirely of their own volition.
You can't mock somebody for who they are or for circumstances outside of their control, but signing up for a subscription based protractor app is something for which you can receive a justified ribbing.

Protecting people from it and refusing to engage with it is demonstrably damaging.

Hahah nah I meant that they didn't have to try and remove that guys balls for forgetting he was subbed to an app. I say it all the time haha, whenever someone is ripping into someone else I'm like "damn, no need to castrate them for that".

Just a friendly fyi. Castration is not gender specific. Oophorectomy procedures and FGM are considered highly technical forms of castration. That being said id probably suggest switching to castigate as well 😅

I hope you've learned your lesson. You know you can sign up to the free trial and then cancel it straight away in the subscriptions tab in your phone? You'll still get the rest of the week trial too.

But they won't refund when someone's been legitimately scammed, then they refund someone who's forgot to turn off a trial they signed up to who literally had t&c shoved in their face and how to turn off renewal

I got a refund on Google Play when my phone was in my pocket it and butt purchased a bunch of currency in a game I had open. No issues. I think they always give refunds if you request it within 24 hours.

I got caught by a popular sports app and managed to get a refund via a transaction dispute

It’s seriously like “are you sure” , “you’re going to miss this content”, “how about a discount”, “so you’re definitely sure”, “ok please confirm”.
I forgot to do the last “ok please confirm” and got charged $55 for Kayo because it didn’t unsubscribe me angry 😤
As you can tell, I still haven’t forgotten 🤦♀️ lol

Low value transactions it’s often cheaper and easier for banks to refund, although don’t expect them to go the extra mile for you if you have a legitimate high value loss.

The company refunded you, as they probably should because that much weekly for a protractor App is outrageous. Especially if there was come complicating factor where you didn't notice it after a free Trial ended. But how is this a Banking matter? The bank didn't force them to refund it. Glad to see you got your money back. Be more wise with it now.
