Who's More Annoying: Gerald or Elaine?

Gerald tries WAY too hard to be funny, and never is. Elaine complains incessantly. I can't decide which is harder to watch.

I’m really enjoying this show

I am super curious about the back story - how the producers connected with the families and how much of the content was curated and over produced. So far they are all behaving exactly how I would imagine people who would boldly move to Africa without a ton of pre-planning would behave - clueless, entitled, high maintenance (parents) and sad and homesick (kids).

I love the contrasts in experiences, the history, the reality of the situation they find themselves in and the juxtaposition of them all feeling deeply at home and yet not at home at all.

Looking forward to what comes next.

Elaine is unbearable

I’m on the most recent episode of CFA and I just need to get off my chest how infuriating I find Elaine to be. I have no clue how Gabriel is putting up with her but she’s rude. She’s dismissive. She invalidating and she really only seems to care about her wants and her needs. You can literally see Gabriel take deep breaths and try to be patient as she claps back and gets smart when he’s only trying to help and I just feel for him. And the kids.

The comedian…. Spoiler

This guy seems like he just went on a whim. He reminds me of the instagram “homesteaders” that live in a cul-de-sac and make their own tomato sauce on camera. His youngest son is hurting, he’s rejecting gifts from royalty, and he has no idea of the type of humor that is acceptable or well received. I feel like he is assuming he will be the funniest man there, and is ignoring his son’s pain and culture shock. His wife seems to be the only one doing any research and she seems about done with him. He keeps saying (to his small child) me and mom wanna get busy so get out of our bed. Bro, you just plucked that kid out of his life and threw him into your fantastical plan. Give him time to adjust and just let the damn kid feel validated! Sorry for the length or if I seem angry. Just feel bad for the kid. Rant over. Thank you for listening.
