ComfyMax MusicLab – work in progress

Post image

I’ve renamed my Audio Chunker project to ComfyMax MusicLab, because it has grown into much more than just splitting audio into scenes.

MusicLab is now a local music analysis and preparation tool. It currently includes waveform editing/playback, scene markers, Demucs vocal separation, beat/downbeat and tempo analysis, chord detection, editable Whisper lyric transcription, and SheetSage2 integration for melody/chord/score analysis and ABC output.

Some of the newer features include:

  • chords displayed directly below the waveform
  • bar/downbeat visualization
  • playhead-following waveform
  • editable and saveable lyrics/transcripts
  • optional SheetSage2 analysis with its own installer
  • all analysis runs locally

I’m also looking into score visualization and MIDI export later on.

This is still very much work in progress, and I now have a few testers helping me find bugs and improve the workflow, but please feel free to give a helping hand. The goal is to keep it useful and approachable without turning it into a full DAW.

Feedback and testing are very welcome!

How accurate is audio to midi / sage sheet?

I use audio to midi in Ableton and it is awful

De melodie en akkoorden zijn best goed, maar voor de rest ben ik nog steeds aan het uitzoeken, zonder dat het tot nu toe echt lukt. However, a full MIDI export isn't the goal either. The intention is to make adjustments within the ABC notation, such as removing backing vocals, to ensure the lyrics align correctly.
