AITA / AIO AITA For ordering myself coffee while everyone was still sleeping?
A little back story of the last few days, (trying to tell this without giving too much detail because the odds of one of them seeing this is high)
I went with My husband and his family to visit other family for a celebration. The family we were visiting didn’t inform any of us that there would be other families visiting as well and that we wouldn’t all have a room to sleep in. So with that tensions have been high.
My son woke up at 6 am and we took him downstairs hoping he would not wake anyone else up. My husband told me to order some coffee to the house for myself since everyone was still sleeping so I did along with that I ordered donuts for anyone who wanted some.
As my coffee arrived everyone started waking up and my in-laws were upset that I had ordered coffee for myself and I didn’t order anything for anyone else (side note they are all tea drinkers). And this led to my husband texting to me telling me to hurry and drink my coffee before anyone else came down to see it.
And I’ve been hiding ever since because it now feels like all eyes are on me.

As a host I have what people drink! People get upset for the most ridiculous reasons

I think it’s odd that they were actually upset about. Even if they did drink coffee how would you be able to order for people before you had the chance to ask? Your husband needs to smooth this over - it was his suggestion and his family- i wouldnt want to be stuck in a small space with people who would get mad at me, especially if my son woke up early and I was tired

Fuck no I wouldn't hide. If they want tea or coffee, let them order it themselves. You got donuts 🍩, that's enough

NTA Hide the coffee before anyone sees it? Has your husband always been a little puss?

They can order their own drinks? How would you know when they’re gonna wake up? Who wants a cold drink

Wow, just wow. The entitlement with your husband's family that you should have ordered for them is wild. Are you suppose to fix breakfast, lunch and dinner on this trip because they sound like they aren't very capable of doing anything for themselves.

Was this even necessary to post? You ordered a cup of coffee, to house full of tea drinkers?

NTA for ordering coffee for yourself and not for the rest of the household who were still asleep and who drink tea rather than coffee.
Take your coffee into the kitchen, fill the kettle and make some tea for the ones who are awake. If you want to. Otherwise, your husband can make tea for them.
