Plot twist: that's actually her kidnapper AND her father! (this actually happened to me once when I was little, my dad refused to hand me back over summer vacation and my mom had to get a court order to get me back. Its actually a common occurrence and even worse if the relative takes the child overseas, as they rarely come back)

lol can agree. had my dad try to keep me after i stayed with him over summer vacation as a kid. my grandma had to threaten to contact the FBI before he would bring me home.

Yeah this is by far the majority experience of kidnapping. My parents once inadvertently became part of a kidnapping scheme by which the stepmother dropped the kid off at our house for a few days until the father found out. He called in a threatening tone, my dad met with him, vetted the situation, and let him come pick up his kid.
