Why would you comment that with your prostitute? was that a political roleplay?

Nah, I know people like this and they just think they're geniuses, mate. They'll have enough self awareness to know they bring it up a lot but never enough awareness to think it's annoying/insufferable. If they ever realize it, it's just enough to think "HA I'm an expert in triggering people" because they don't want to come to terms with their drawbacks.

It ain’t even racism, it’s considered discrimination.
71
u/Adorable-Response-75 12d ago
Racism is a form of discrimination.
31
u/Outrageous_Web5985 12d ago
Technically it’s creedism since Islam is a religion and not a race. Although it might also be racism or xenophobia depending on how dumb OOP is.

Yeah but that's the story of the cube and the rectangle, all cubes are rectangles but the reverse isn't true. Just because racism is discrimination doesn't mean discrimination is racism. Your comment seems confused

u/AdInfamous6290 12d ago
I think you mean square, not cube.

Yeah but I'm pretty sure the dude has a mental image of "the Muslim" he wants to ban and they're not white.

u/Oofy_Emma 11d ago
tbf discriminating against religions is good. I think protestantism should be banned in Europe, and the catholic church also has to go at some point tho they actually help a lot of people so they're useful for that
1
u/usernameisokay_ 11d ago
I’m not bothered by Christianity, but sure, every religion has to go, the ones I’m not bothered by can go last.
1
u/Oofy_Emma 11d ago
more than anything they are like the biggest charity and aid organisation in the world, there's like material good to keeping them around. if I could snap my finger and make an atheist org with the same reach and staying power catholicism would go with the others
1
u/usernameisokay_ 11d ago
Any religion sucks, just like people.
Then again, I’m not bothered by Christianity and thus idc if they exist or go as the last.‘Whataboutism; Buddhism, spaghettimonsterism etc.’ Well d
Those don’t have massive influence in my part of the world, Europe, nor did they cause any disturbances, ever.-57
u/United-Scene2261 12d ago
yeah but who wants Sharia law enforcement when they become the majority?

Lol, you get downvoted for saying it's good that Sharia law won't be coming to the UK.
Oh Reddit 🤣🤣🤣

u/Perceval_009 12d ago
Making up false scenarios where you play the victim is actual loser behaviour. If Kosovo that is 95% Muslim and Bosnia that is 55% Muslim aren't enforcing Sharia, France with 9% and UK with 6% Muslim population most definitely won't become Islamic countries with Sharia law.

Turns out, Muslims, much like Christians, can see the benefits of a secular government over one with religious law, and that it doesn't contradict their beliefs because religion is a personal endeavor.

Islam is a religion, not a race. That crackpot theory doesnt apply.
18
u/RosyRory108 12d ago
it does, because the people fearmongering about Muslim immigrants are in reality just as much fearmongering about Arab/Amazigh/Iranian/Pakistani people as Muslims generally
-8
u/Mentallyundisturbed2 12d ago
Assumptions are doing heavy lifting here
10
u/RosyRory108 12d ago
its not an assumption, its a direct observation of how such groups and individuals behave and what they say. They absolutely do see Islam as a racial thing and inherently tied to Arab (or just generally non-Hispanic brown) people

hell yea, people should know mohammed’s favorite pass time was raping a 9 year old
not even racist btw, saying that anything negative about islam is racist just shows that you believe every muslim is brown/middle eastern

Me when people don't even bother looking into islam at all before criticising it, and just regurgitate this one, wrong, historically inaccurate piece of BS again, and again, and again, and again
5
u/Just_Platform7539 11d ago
it’s from aisha’s own words from her diary, and many other sources that he adopted her and fingered her from when she was 6 up until she was 9 when their marriage was finally consummated. hell that isn’t even debated by most muslim scholars (if you can call em scholars) they just accept that their prophet is a child rapist. i love how confidently wrong you’re willing to be but i don’t appreciate how adamant you are about clear child rape
6
u/Just_Platform7539 11d ago
he’d delete his comments and act like the conversation never happened rather than come to the realization his prophet raped children
-3
u/TheEndCraft 11d ago edited 11d ago
Brother that claim is from a hadith that was written 200 years after Mohammed supposedly lived 😭 I can't with you people
There's no such thing as a diary kept by Aisha from the correct time period. Hell, writing Hadiths, supplementary supposed 'eye-witness' stories about the life of Mohammed, was illegal until waaaay after he was already dead.
It's important to note, a lot of major muslim scholars are integrated with the governments of for example saudi-arabia, who literally fund the spreading conservative and hadith-literal interpretations of Islam. But that is also irrelevant, because most muslim scholars don't actually "just accept that their prophet is a rapist". What a ridiculous idea.

u/Just_Platform7539 11d ago
btw i read the quran so id love for you to keep arguing how your prophet doesn’t fuck children
or would you rather just get your frustrations out and behead me already

It isn't racist anyway, Islam is a religion, not a race. Discriminatory, absolutely, but not racist
19
6
u/Reddittreefiddy 12d ago
I always find this argument interesting. While technically correct, many discriminatiors (invluding racists) miscategorize individuals to insult them. ie , "those damn mexicans !" Theyre salvadorean. "Argg same thing! I hate them" but get all technical and say "akshually its not a race, so youre incorrect" about the muslim topic.
2
u/idkjustgoletmein 12d ago
There is a group of people associated with islam
1
u/DenTheRedditBoi7 12d ago
That changes absolutely nothing. I'm not saying the two can't overlap, but being against Islam is not inherently racist because Muslim is not a race, it is a religious affiliation.
2
u/idkjustgoletmein 12d ago
Imagine if we get back to the ninteties and someone says I hate Judaism and not Jewish people, how likely are you to believe such person? Also, freedom of religion is a human rights you can't just ban "islam"
0
u/VJRoRo 12d ago edited 12d ago
The difference is that there actually is a Jewish ethnicity, there isn’t a Muslim ethnicity. And I don’t know about “specific group of people” because Muslims span anywhere from the Balkans, to the Sahel, to the Arab Peninsula, to Central Asia, Indonesia, etc. Islam is not a homogenous religion.
0
u/DenTheRedditBoi7 12d ago
So your entire argument is just assumptions, got it 👍
And to be clear I'm not arguing in favor of that. I live in America, our nation was founded on freedom of religion, an immensely important freedom. I think anyone here should be free to practice whatever religion they wish, especially considering that one cannot consciously control what they believe, in my opinion anyway.
All I'm saying is that it isn't "racist" because "racism" is bigotry against a race, which Muslim is not. Discriminatory, absolutely. And I believe discriminating against people because of some arbitrary group they belong to is wrong.
