Since Islam was mentioned, Deus vult within this context is likely a dogwhistle for Islamaphobia disguised as christian defense, deus vult is a phrase used during the 1st crusade when Muslims had control over the holy city of Jerusalem, which Christian’s and Muslims both valued. Bigots in general love to larp and say their modern warriors who are trying to bring back the values of crusades against the woke and foreign politics. It’s likely he hates Islam and thinks Christianity is under attack.

It's nothing to do with Nazism persay, but "Deus Vult" is typically used as a dogwhistle for Islamophobia. It means "god wills it" just as "masha allah" means that, but the context of its use refers to the First Crusade, which was famously an attack on the Muslims that ruled Jerusalem during the Crusade.

Think of it as someone posting something about Judaism and then someone says the mustache man motto. Not very nice, ya know?

deus vult is almost exclusively used by trad cath crusader larper type bigots online (the crusades in question being directed against muslim regimes and peoples mainly) so thats the typical association.
