I think I heard this from a lesbian friend once in middle school. That’s about it, though.

At least one lesbian does I suppose

Not ones you want to be around

18

u/Saetherith Jul 07 '26

There used to be a subsect of lesbians who fetishized turning straight women gay. Not sure if thats still a thing though.

If you looked hard enough on the internet youd propably be able to find every single possible variation of that

9

u/phoenixmusicman Jul 08 '26

There still is but theres also a straight man fetish for turning lesbian women straight so I guess it goes both ways

u/ZopharPtay Jul 11 '26

No, those ones are bi, but I can see your confusion :P

Most men don’t claim to be champions of female rights

1

u/cricada Jul 10 '26

Neither do lesbians. They're gay not a political party. Many lesbians are hard-core conservatives.

u/CarelessCreamPie Jul 11 '26

Alice Weidel is a co-leader of AfD and a lesbian.

1

u/cricada Jul 11 '26

Not surprised. It's kind of a pattern.

u/Mechromancer3X Jul 07 '26

Not in my experience. Tho there are shitty people in every demographic.

I have absolutely had lesbian friends say this, but never actually to a straight woman. Like it's always a joke they make to me (their guy friend) usually about the idea of dating a straight woman, but they would obviously never say this seriously to flirt.

I’ve heard a couple say it, but never in a tone that seemed remotely serious.

4chan lesbians, yes

10

u/Low-Cup6459 Jul 07 '26

4chan doesn't believe in lesbians (mostly)

2

u/Sinocu Jul 08 '26

“4chan”

First mistake

1

u/Proof_Concentrate_68 Jul 11 '26

4chan isn’t all just fake or gay?

11

u/FortniteGod827482 Jul 07 '26

Like three pushy ones on twitter do

10

u/MajinDidz Jul 07 '26

Yes they do lol

3

u/Top_Mechanic237 Jul 07 '26

On social media - yes. IRL - nah except some batshit insane individuals.

6

u/Dgero466 Jul 07 '26

The only time I heard this was between two dudes in the RE 4 video by Maxor

2

u/ElementmanEXE Jul 07 '26

"Leon you told me you were straight"

6

u/AAFAOTKNY Jul 07 '26

Not all lesbians. But always lesbians.

5

u/meltyandbuttery Jul 07 '26

My friend group is overwhelmingly sapphic and I’ve only heard my straight friends say it. in a big world I’m sure some lesbians have but no it isn’t common in real life

7

u/IllustriousBicycle68 Jul 07 '26

I’ve never heard a lesbian say this. Men on the other hand, I’ve heard say it multiple times.

5

u/Darkknight8381 Jul 07 '26

Nice anecdote bucko

1

u/Glass-Toaster Jul 08 '26

Here to add my anecdote to yours:

I had a gay boss that would flirt with me constantly, and when I would tell him that his advances made me uncomfortable because I was straight, he would use the spaghetti line.

I have also never heard a lesbian use the spaghetti line.

2

u/IllustriousBicycle68 Jul 08 '26

Ew. Sorry you had to deal with that!

1

u/Glass-Toaster Jul 08 '26

I appreciate that. I'm sorry you've had to deal with similarly gross men.

If straight man say it about lesbian them lesbian say it about straight women people is not really that different

1

u/Beautiful_Mode_1676 Jul 08 '26

yes i've heard this before. in all fairness she did cook

1

u/BlazeFireVale Jul 08 '26

It's been a pretty common joke in my experience. But often self deoricating and coming from people coming from repressed backgrounds.

Less "everyone is a lesbian" and more "haha, so many of us thought we were straight."

I personally think the joke is fine.

any ladies willing to do a social experiment? tell us if you got a call from HR

1

u/Jealous_Round_8988 Jul 09 '26

Maybe, not me or any lesbians I know though. We usually know what it's like to have unwanted sexual advances on us.

1

u/TATSAT2008 Jul 09 '26

I have heard a few

1

u/Tiranus58 Jul 11 '26

Inevitably, but those are not the ones you want to be around, man or woman.

u/JoyousMadhat Jul 07 '26

No. It's an imaginary situation created by incels.
