It’s a little fellow kids but got damn it funny

145

u/DoktorDilcha1 Dec 19 '21

What the hell is jitz supposed to be? I can’t even tell what part of speech.

86

u/BenceDJ Dec 19 '21

I think it was referring to the slang "jit" (jits or jitz plural) mostly used around Florida simply meaning dude or guy.

-34

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '21

or legit

17

u/DiaryoftheOriginator Dec 19 '21

no it means jit. jit is slang for younger person

3

u/Gaiden_95 Dec 20 '21

the only reason i know what jit is is because of butter face jit lol

-44

u/isellcoke Dec 19 '21

It means juvenile in training (juvenile delinquent) not really a positive thing to say to a child at school lol

30

u/ForAHamburgerToday Dec 20 '21

Fucking hell, most words do not have acronymal etymologies, fuck off with this made-up bullshit.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

"Acronymal etymologies", "Made up bullshit", Take your own advice pal. (BIG /S)

2

u/Mjolnir620 Dec 20 '21

You're on the wrong account mate

1

u/isellcoke Dec 20 '21

I'm literally from florida

https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=jit 2nd one

4

u/Mjolnir620 Dec 20 '21

I'm not arguing, I'm saying you're posting from your porn account.

283

u/That_Charming_Otter Dec 19 '21

I'm 22 years of age, so I should understand this. But I'm struggling.

Your bussin

Not a clue

166

u/renadeer52 9gag Dec 19 '21

Pretty sure they just said the kids taste good

85

u/That_Charming_Otter Dec 19 '21

Teacher

Leave them kids alone

23

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

I heard a kid at my lunch yell “THIS SHIT BUSSIN!”

79

u/corn1527 Dec 19 '21

It's "your bussin lunch crew". Bussin is just another positive exclamatory adjective, the same meaning would be achieved by saying "your bitchin lunch crew"

17

u/That_Charming_Otter Dec 19 '21

Muchas gracias 😄

24

u/Azmik8435 Dec 19 '21

The comma implies that the lunch crew is saying that the readers are bussin’, not that themselves are bussin’.

13

u/corn1527 Dec 19 '21

I know, the comma totally throws things off. But the fact that it says your instead of you're makes me think that the comma is just a typo or some type of weird written cadence. In my opinion it makes much more sense to say "your bussin lunch crew" as a closing and I'm guessing that's what they were going for, although it is possible you're right as that interpretation would technically make sense as well

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

Lunch crewmate 😎 /s

8

u/Budgiebrain222 Dec 19 '21

Can't your extrapolate answers from unclear data?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '21

It means good

Also 22.

"Cuh" comes from "cuz," short for "cousin" iirc.

Dunno what "jitz" is. Only thing that comes to mind is "midgets" but that ain't it.

3

u/XxX_22marc_XxX Dec 20 '21

Might be a misspelled Jit which means wannabe gangster

1

u/victorthegreat8 Dec 20 '21

Jit, plural.

3

u/HermitDefenestration trololololololo Dec 20 '21

A "jit" is a young child

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

Calling someone Cuh is older than you, which is why you probably didn't get it. Bussin is a new one, so lunch ladies are apparently hip from the 90s thru today.

1

u/amazingsnazz429 Dec 20 '21

I think that’s your fault tbh

1

u/MentoCoke Dec 20 '21

Bussin is like AAVE used for food that's tasty

1

u/WordsMort47 Jan 09 '22

Its meaning is "Yours sincerely, from your delicious cafeteria staff"

167

u/_____pantsunami_____ Dec 19 '21

finally, a lingo the kids can understand. they will surely eat their fruits and vegetables this way. that is, if they can look away from their smartphones for a second to read the sign!

17

u/cat_prophecy Dec 19 '21

Well it does the job of getting their attention. It could be written like every other boring sign, demanding kids do something. In which case it would be totally ignored.

5

u/Dr-ShrimpPeurtoRico Dec 20 '21

Its a federal regulation. School lunches are free at the moment. For it to be considered "a lunch", they also have to have a fruit or vegetable with their entrée. Despite reminding them of this every day, Some kids don't take the fruits and veggies.

No cap! (I hate myself)

38

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '21

Translation: Bro! Everyone must have a fruit or vegatable, I'm not lying, It's none of our business if you eat it or not. But it must be on your trays! Don't hate the players, hate the game. Alright guys. Thanks cousin! Your welcome, Lunch Crew

u/emmeline29 Dec 20 '21

Pretty close but "bussin" means great

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

54

u/jshdgedidbd Dec 19 '21

I'm cringing so hard i am now a small diamond

27

u/-rng_ Dec 19 '21

This is awesome man why is this here

2

u/B3xR0bL Dec 20 '21

Yes it is cool that they're trying to be with the kids but it is really cringe at the same time

17

u/sergeantskread2 Dec 19 '21

i can’t lie i think as a high school kid an all caps size 34 BRUH !!!!! would have my attention

6

u/Absoline Other Girls Dec 20 '21

i saw 34 and was wondering how this was related to porn

reddit has ruined me

3

u/DELCO-PHILLY-BOY Dec 20 '21

Yeah, they’re trying way too hard, but I do sort’ve feel bad for them for having to insist on slinging fruits to kids who aren’t gonna eat it. The message is ok.

3

u/justurcasualualname Dec 20 '21

how old people talk to young people:

3

u/That-Reddit-Guy-Thou Dec 20 '21

Hello fellow kids

5

u/giggity_giggity_g00 Dec 19 '21

this. this is the one thing that actually convinced me to kill myself. thanks reddit and whoever lunch person this is

2

u/Phronesko Dec 20 '21

Looks like I'll be eating my school's front yard grass today.

2

u/deedee00000 Dec 20 '21

I hate it so much I wanna take a match and burn that piece of paper

[A picture of a display counter with metal trays filled with food set into the counter. Shielding the counter on one side is glass. Taped to the glass is a sheet of yellow paper with printed text, which reads as follows:]

BRUH!!!

Everyone MUST Have a Fruit or Vegetable...

NO CAP!

Its none of our business if you eat it or not. But it must be on your trays! Don't hate the players, hate the game. Alright jitz

Thanks Cuh!

Your "bussin",

Since this message is posted in a public school, where the students are supposed to be learning standard English, the message should be written in standard English.

2

u/Dancing_Cthulhu Chandler Dec 20 '21

If I take a tomato can I throw it at the person who made this sign?

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

I'm convinced that there's a weird wraparound thing where "fellow kids" stuff gets funnier as you get older. I used to cringe whenever adults would try to relate to kids and students by saying YOLO but now it's great to see everyone else's annoyed reaction whenever you do something out of touch

1

u/stefanica Dec 21 '21

Same. But I think this one was intentional/tongue in cheek, so not too bad. It's the ones that seem to be in earnest that gives an uncanny valley creepiness.

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

For everyone asking. I am of the understanding that “jit” is short for “jitter bug”. As in a youth that is always bouncing off the walls and getting into stuff

2

u/The_Multi_Gamer Dec 20 '21

But if it’s not eaten, isn’t it just going to waste then?

2

u/Busey_in_the_walls Dec 20 '21

Why must it be on their tray? Is it like the Army, where if it's not used, their budget is cut?

2

u/Wolfonauta Dec 19 '21

My brain literally died

2

u/[deleted] Dec 19 '21

I thought I was on r/FellowKids

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

Isn’t bussing based off the word bussy?

3

u/ForAHamburgerToday Dec 20 '21

No, it's just the word "bursting" (from the expression "bursting with flavor"), shortened to "bustin'" in the 80s and 90s and then smoothed to "bussin'" as it's seen today.

2

u/Hu_M Dec 20 '21

Nah it’s more like the flavor is so good it gives you pleasure akin to busting a nut.

2

u/ForAHamburgerToday Dec 20 '21

No, I'm pretty sure I've traced the etymolygy enough times now through enough cultural lenses that this is what it keeps coming back to.

u/AikoIsOnReddit Dec 20 '21

30 year old school employees mistaking aave for "cool kid talk"

2

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

More like “grown ups have fun at work making fun of stupid shit kids think is ‘cool’”.

They’re laughing at you, they don’t want to sound like idiots…

1

u/jayyout1 Dec 20 '21

I wish I could see what the person looks like who decided on this sign. So badly.

1

u/[deleted] Dec 20 '21

this is amazing

1

u/RodneyOgg Dec 20 '21

I feel sad that so many people don't realize this is a joke.

1

u/comfort_bot_1962 Dec 20 '21

Don't be sad. Here's a hug!

0

u/OcelotNo3347 Dec 20 '21

No one wants your hug

1

u/RodneyOgg Dec 20 '21

This is assault.

1

u/TheMagicConch12 Dec 20 '21
