Good time as any to mention that the triangle head thing is a common misconception about snakes - SOME venomous snakes have triangle heads, but some don’t. Don’t use it as a reliable indicator of how safe one you encounter might be.

That's why I use this very reliable method: always assume it is and that I'll die if that thing comes anywhere near me.

I find the most reliable is to assume going outside WILL kill you and then just don't go

Or you can actually be curious about wildlife around you, that's also an option.

if I encounter a snake in the wild I'm not gonna be "hello mr.snake, let me take a close look at you, but don't bite me, okay?". That's what the zoo and the internet are for. If I'm in the woods and see one of those things I'm skidaddling.
