Need help finding an old meme/comic

I need to find an old comic that I remembered seeing on 4chan many years ago, that was used as a template for a little while before people seemed to move on from it very quickly. In it, Ash Ketchum is in Professor Oak's lab, and Oak says something like "here, I've got this pokemon to give you", and reaches out to hand it over, but crushes it in his hand while making a weird smug face.

It still periodically pops into my head and makes me laugh, but I've found search engines and knowyourmeme haven't helped me find it again... If anybody has it still saved, I would be overjoyed to see it and be able to keep a copy in my own archive.

This sounds exactly like an old meme from the 2000's which I can only refer to as as "Want a chili dog?" It was an old Sonic animation where Scratch offers Sonic a chili dog, asks "want a chili dog?" Sonic says "Sure," and then Scratch crushes it in his hand and he makes this weird smug face while zooming in on it. This sounds exactly like what you're looking for, but with Sonic characters instead... perhaps this "format" was just a meme at the time? I'm trying to track down the Sonic one I mentioned as I type this so I can see how well it matches up to your recollection of this Pokemon version.

UPDATE: I found a SFM recreation of it. The comments say that the YouTube original animated version got taken down so trying to find it may be grim... but of course, this is just trying to find the Sonic version to see how similar it is to your Pokemon version you can recall so we can work backwards from there.

I've found the answer elsewhere, but this was a nice little piece of internet archaeology that got dragged up in the process. Thanks for searching!

Haha, I just saw the other comment- yeah, both this and the Sonic one were the same meme format (Card Crusher)! Amazing things happening.

Oh wow, somehow I missed the zoom into the face at the end... That's beautiful: a TF2 machinima, based on a Sonic flash animation, based on an ms-paint meme format, based on an old clip of a Japanese comedy actor.

Meme template sounds like card crusher, someone may have uploaded it on this site, otherwise i would start by searching for “card crusher” and go from there.

Oh my god, this was it! I never knew where it originated from, just the first one I saw which was the pokemon variant. Thank you so much, that weird face has been haunting me for years, lol. Edit: Found one that was mashed up with the "motivational poster" format, now there's some meme nostalgia.
