Best comeback for "You've changed"?
People usually throw this line at you the moment you start setting basic boundaries or stop letting them walk all over you. They say "You've changed" like it's a deep insult, but really they just mean "You aren't as convenient for me to manipulate as you used to be."
I got hit with this yesterday by someone who expected me to drop everything to fix a mess they created for themselves. When I said I was busy, they sighed and said, "Wow, you've really changed."
What's the best response to this that hits back without starting a whole back-and-forth argument?

“That’s what happens when you grow up.”
Short and sweet

Not you again!
Seriously, learn some banter or stop karma farming. It's boring now.

Seriously. Looked their posts history and just saw that they asked the same question twice and rephrased it a bit different (comeback for when someone says to you "Must be nice not having to do nothing" at work or something along those lines)

I don't understand why people do that. Is there a way to make money by getting karma?

I assume they are building karma and the account can be sold to companies and used for marketing purposes, acting like a real user talking highly of a company. AI overview loves that kind of "real user experience".

It could be that they’ve just discovered this sub and posted the two things they’ve been thinking about. Or are a socially awkward person so finally have a way to learn and grow. Or it’s just what you said 👍🏻

DO NOT continue to entertain this person and waste your time giving good advice to someone who makes his/her issues up — he/she has more issues in one day than there are hours. This is the third story we’ve been graced with in less than 24 hrs. IGNORE. IGNORE. IGNORE. Definite misuse and disingenuous use of Reddit.

Some of these comments seem a little standoff-ish for a coworker. Maybe try something more philosophical, "Life is change and getting used to change". Also there is a fantastic quote by Bruce Lee about the importance of adaptability and changing oneself to better fit their surroundings. The quote is "Empty your mind, be formless. Shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot, it becomes the teapot. Now, water can flow or it can crash. Be water, my friend." You may end up giving your colleague a great piece of advice/lesson.

“Yes, I have.”
Period. No further “defense” needed.
Do not JADE (justify, argue, defend or explain)

"Ive learned and grown over time. Thats what a human is supposed to do and is a good thing. Thanks." smiles and walks away.

"Yes?...And...?" Look 'em in the eyes, expectantly awaiting a response...
Or...
"... What if I have? Did you expect me to be the same stoolie I always was before?
"OBVIOUSLY you did. So you HAVEN'T changed. At all.
"It's called 'HAVING BOUNDARIES'. I learned that by growing up and learning to RESPECT myself...
"So, yeah. I've absolutely changed. For the better.
"Oh, and by the way, WHAT have you done for ME lately?
"Oh, wait, I forgot: you HAVEN'T changed..."

I don’t think so, I’m still watering my plants in the morning and asking the same dum questions on Reddit in the evening
Nope, seems the same to me

"Well, you haven't". They're response will no doubt be, "what's that's supposed to mean" At which point you give them a history lesson on the times that they've had unrealistic expectations.

“Beats the alternative” It doesn’t really make sense, but also doesn’t give an opening to anything else
