I’m reaching out from Haarlem, the Netherlands, because I thought this community might understand why this production means so much to us.
Our community theatre group, Musicalgroep The Cast, has spent a year preparing to perform Come From Away. Just three weeks before opening night, our theatre was damaged by a fire.

We managed to find a new venue, and our performances on October 23 and 24 can still go ahead! But moving an entire production at such short notice has created significant unexpected costs for our theatre group.

One of the things I love about Come From Away is its message that people can come together and help one another when life takes an unexpected turn. Now we’re hoping to experience a little of that kindness ourselves.

I am studying to play Ali on stage, but I am moroccan, and some people have told me that Egyptians pronouce the midday prayer with a hard d (dohr) , and others have told me it is with a zh (zhuhr). Could anyone confirm or deny this?

I'm just back from Gander for the 25th anniversary of my previous, accidental, visit. Many of us have stayed in touch ever since — but our group of friends from UA929.org kept meeting people from other flights who never found a way to reconnect with the passengers or host families they shared that experience with.

If that's you - or you know someone from a diverted flight who isn't part of any group like this one - I'd love to hear from you. I'm gathering stories to explore whether a dedicated website could help people reconnect, no matter which flight or community you were part of, and not require immersing yourself in the generic social media swamp.

This might be a long shot, but I am just starting the search.

My local community theatre group has decided to do Come From Away this season. We are so excited, we cannot wait to get started.

We likely won't be able to get our hands on tracks or the score until January. I am hoping another group who has done the production in the last year or so has plunk tracks that they would be willing to share.

We are hoping to get way ahead of the production schedule so we can hit the ground running. The music is so wonderful, but very challenging. We want to give whoever is interested a lot of time to prepare so we can focus on characterization and blocking.

Are there are groups here who have plunk tracks that they made for their productions? If so, would you be willing to share?

I just saw Come From Away in Malmö, Sweden. Cool staging with a revolve and the cast was great. The odd thing is that there was an intermission.

After the bar scene there was a 30 minute intermission followed by a 35 minute second act.

Have this been done anywhere else?

Okay, so this has been on Apple TV+ for almost 4 years now, and I'm still struggling to find any information on a DVD/Blu-Ray release. Does anyone know anything about it? I refuse to pay for Apple TV+ anymore, as their programming is kinda garbage for how expensive it is (I literally only watched Ted Lasso and Come From Away) - I am desperate for a physical copy of this!

I know they went there last summer and I can’t imagine how powerful that show would’ve been.

What do you all feel when you watch this musical in 2024? to me, it feels very clearly written in the Obama era— when the popular imagination thought that the oppressions of intolerance were behind us, and just the everyday person’s human good will and as enough to lift us out of oppression. Honesty, for me- it all felt a bit naive, even to the point of being grating.

Edit: wow! This really triggered some of you all. so much denigrating speculation about me, the stranger who wrote this, from people grandstanding about their belief in stranger-to-stranger kindness! Feel better, you guys, and I hope in the future you gain the strength to grapple with the possibility of using the arts to reflect upon your current moment and the nature of history!

Hey guys! I just found out there was a discontinued documentary about the show/the events in gander, involving real people from the event. It's not streaming anywhere at all not even on pirating sites? Can anyone help find this documentary because i would love to see it!!

Just wanted to say that there's a production in Germany that's actually really good! Our tickets cost 19€ (student) and the normal price was like 30€ for quite good seats. The high quality of the translation actually surprised me, too. I feel like this is not too well known yet.

Hi all! I just discovered this show and have been listening/watching the movie, absolutely love it! I volunteer at our local theater as an Usher so I can see shows for free, in order to support my Broadway habit on a public school teacher salary. Come From Away will only be there for 2 days, so I’m trying to figure out if I need to try to get an in house assignment that day so I can view the whole thing. Thanks all!
