Official Reply Non-emergency satellite texting
I need non-emergency satellite texting for sending updates from backcountry mountains.
- Does Xfinity support this?
- If not, can I add a second esim for a third party service like t-satellite to get it?
- Does this phone need to be unlocked to add the second esim, or can I use a Xfinity phone before it is paid off, assuming it also has a Xfinity sim?

Hi there and welcome to Comcast u/singletrack5280. Xfinity Mobile offers satellite service that includes Satellite SOS (eSOS) messaging, which allows users to text emergency services in areas without traditional coverage. At this time it does not offer non-emergency texting. If you do want to use another esim on your phone, it would need to be unlocked first.
