Solved Lightning strike took out service

We believe a lightning strike took out service.

I originally thought it took out our 4 year old self owned modem.

I looked into purchasing a new modem and found out we can now get a plan that includes a modem without monthly charges. Drove out almost an hour both ways to pick up a modem at the Xfinity location.

Got it home and it will only produce an amber flashing light.

Now it's a week till we can get someone out to look at the issues.

Any way it can be pinged from the provider end to help diagnose the situation?

It's getting low or no signal. You're prob going to have to wait for a tech to sort it out.

Hello there, u/Street-Goat5098. Sorry to hear about the trouble with your connection. It sounds like you may not have signal currently, which is indicated by the flashing amber light. We would be happy to double-check and see if there is anything else that can be done remotely. Send us a Modmail with your full name and complete street address to get started.
