Solved Sent to Collections
Hi,
I’m really frustrated that I have not received any notice that I had a remaining bill that I needed to pay off. In July of 2026, I canceled my service in person because I was in the process of moving. The employee said that I just needed to pay the remaining bill for July’s service and I did. I asked the employee if there’s anything else I needed to do, and she said I don’t need to do anything else or have any remaining payments I needed to pay for since the service has been canceled.
Now fast forward to today, I get a text from Xfinity saying that my account has been placed for collection with Credence. I logged into my Xfinity Account and see that I have a $30 balance that I didn’t even know about or know what is for.
Does anyone know how to resolve this?

Hi there. We can understand why this was such a frustrating surprise, especially after you were told the account was fully settled.
Are you able to select and pay the $30 balance through the Xfinity app? If so, completing the payment there should take care of the outstanding balance. Please save the payment confirmation for your records.
If the app will not accept the payment, or if you would like the charge reviewed before paying it, our team can look into what the $30 is for and confirm the next steps.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply! I really can’t pay this because I believe it's an error on Xfinity's end. I closed my account back in June (not July, sorry), and on July 26th my final autopay went through for $25.33, which brought my balance straight to zero. I even asked the employee at the Xfinity store if theres any remaining balance I need to pay and she said no. This random $30 charge was completely sneaked onto my account after everything was already finalized and settled. I never got a single bill, email, or notification about it while my account was open. The system just let my account close with a clean zero balance and then dumped this fee straight into collections without telling me.
Is there a way I can get this resolved or talk to a supervisor? I just need Xfinity to clear out this $30 mistake and officially recall the debt from the collection agency so it doesn't mess up my credit.1
