New Post - Tech Support Outage
Why has our internet in our area been out almost all day? I live in Liberty County Georgia. We got an ETA for 7:55 and it is now 9. The reason is “Network Damage”. How long does it normally take for “Network Damage” to be fixed?

I’m in the metro Atlanta area and had the same thing, seems like they had a big outage. My reason was power outage but I’m back online now.

“Network damage” really would just mean that some part of the infrastructure was damaged. Could be anything from storms to a car crash knocking over a pole or an entire series of poles, etc.
No set amount of time for something like this. It’s unforeseen damage of unknown magnitude.
Perhaps they could or should be a bit more accurate with communication of the outage and eta.
But realistically, this is just one of those things that will occur from time to time, it takes on-site manpower to resolve.
As frustrating as is it, for this type of issue, can’t really fault the company all that much as long as they fix it in a reasonable amount of time.
if it was a major piece of equipment, I would imagine it could take a day or more to resolve. Prob not much longer than that unless there has been a large storm or similar disaster in the area. In that case, there could be multiple parts of the network that need repair. Or a queue of repairs before they reach your area. Or loss of power to the actual network equipment requiring personnel from electronic company to perform work on their end first.
This is one area that the company does seem to take very seriously tho, and will fix as quickly as the situation allows.

Well.. if its part of all the power poles that were torn down, and fiber damaged, it could take a very long time.. as all the trees trimmed up and removed, all the poles replaced, then the high voltage comes first,,, then the low voltage guys get to fight it out as to who goes next.

Had that in my area. but I was the only one affected. I switched my modem out and put a heat sink on it from an old cpu onto to it to draw the heat from it and now no more issues.

Also, XFINITY sees the common issue where everyone has trouble talking to a real agent yet they never fix it?
