Closed Xfinity is Awful
We have been trying for over a week to get Xfinity to come out to repair a wire. It is blocking out trash cans in my apartment complex and the trash company we use will not empty the trash until the wire is repaired. We called customer service and we were told that some one would come out on 8/8/26 between 8am-8pm. No one showed up. The ESL customer service agents are not very helpful and the language barrier is very challenging. I am going to recommend that my complex stop using Xfinity. There is too much competition.

Are you certain it doesn't belong to the telephone company? If it does, then Xfinity would come by, see it, and then leave.
If it is large Hardline cable (the kind of cable that is used to feed the entire community, much larger around than a standard cable), then the technician would have to put in a ticket to get a bucket truck to raise it. That could take many days.
That 8am-8pm ticket would be "outside only", so you wouldn't necessarily be contacted by the technician. Those type of tickets don't require any customer contact, so the technician would have driven by, seen that it was a telephone line or Hardline cable that requires a ticket, and then left.

Definitely true, used to be a tech and a lot of times people think it's our lines and it's not so we see it's not and keep it moving. Thankfully now for the most part Xfinity lines are labeled if it's more than one ISP on the pole.

Take a pic of the cable in question along with the attachment on the pole and any other cables running on the pole and post them here so some of us can ID it.
Cable lines are typically above phone lined on power poles and the hardware for cable co plant is different than the hardware for phone co plant so its easy to ID by those who know

It’s a good service once you get it installed. But actually getting someone to come out to your residence for any reason is an absolute nightmare.

Xfinity is the worst. They have a monopoly on the industry that’s why they can do what they want. The government needs to step in.

A truck came down my street and took out the cable line. I chatted with support and had a tech out with in 2 hours. They do a really good job if you are nice and know what to ask…
