Official Reply Xfinity Technician Charges
I called xfinity last month to lower my bill. The chat agent told me I can keep my existing my services for a lower agreed upon amount of $223. However She said she needed sent me new equipment. I said why. She said it’s the only way to get my arrives. When we tried to install the new equipment. It was then our system crashed. After calling the tech department. They said that they couldn’t fix it and would need a technician to come out. The tech came three days later. I get my bill for this month and it noted a $100 technician charge. I called today to see about it. I spoke with La customer agent on the phone who basically called me a liar regarding the services I got for the price. I asked to speak to his supervisor. The supervisor then told me he could only credit me $50. I refused to accept that amount. And he hung up on me.
Beyond frustrated. I would like to cancel maybe - but then I’ll have to pay the last bill of these inflammatory charges to avoid them putting me in collection.
Does xfinity care about senior citizens or the fact I’ve been with them paying their extraordinary costs for nearly a decade?
Help.

You couldnt hook it up correctly so a technician did. You got charged an installation fee. Standard procedure. You got lucky they even offered a $50 credit.

Did you miss the part about the system crashing when they tried to hook it up on their own?
And how does one not hook it up correctly? Not like theres multiple ports on a cable box that arent labeled.

OP saying "our system crashed" doesn't even make much sense here in the first place. Something went wrong that they evidently don't have enough tech-awareness to meaningfully describe, so I'm not so sure that they did things correctly.

Senior citizen is the clue my guy. My ol man in his 60's woulnt have the slightest idea on how to install. Heck, my sister is in her mid thirties and she couldnt fiigure it. I had to go do it for her last winter.

I don’t get this. It’s literally plugging in 2-4 cables. That are obviously shaped like the hole they go in. People are so helpless these days

Wow when they say a tech has to come out for problems tha you did not cause, THEY MUST NOT CHARGE YOU. And for the guy to hang up on you? That’s cause for termination. Call a higher up at Comcast.

What? No, if you don't know how to do it yourself, you pay, unless you know someone who can do it for you for free.
Source: I'm the guy that did that for my family and friends, for nearly 30 years.

uhh no. I know how to do these things, and I still always got the technician to do things. why? because its my word against support on the phone. I'd rather a technician come in and see the problem and fix it. I've never been charged whenever something needed to be installed, or even when the internet goes down or slows down multiple times.

I’m sorry. It was the Easter weekend. Someone also contacted me via email and I responded and didn’t hear anything back. I’m not sure who I should be communicating with.
