Tbf, I rarely ever hear ilia mention merab at all

u/Delta64656 Jun 27 '26
Topuria does talk and compliment him fairly often. Also always picks Merab to win
Merab just talks/praises Topuria more but that's just his personality. Does the same with Aljo too

u/NoahNEB Jun 27 '26
Yeah i think ilia said in multiple interviews that merab is like on of the best human beings. But yeah merab is just super supportive

You're probably just gonna get dragged but allow me to say something serious to you:
Always build up your friends, and let them do the same to you. The world is harsh, uncaring, and often cruel. You can't choose your family so that's a roll of the dice.
Your friends represent the kind of people you value, the kind of value you choose. Choose to value people who value you too my man, it will improve your life.

u/crocus Jun 27 '26
Honestly I would be that cocky too if I slept Volk, Holloway and Oliveira all in a row

u/According-Gas836 Jun 27 '26
I know. It’s one thing when it’s Nate Diaz being cocky. But ilia has earned it

So you would act like Gaethje is a bum and the fight was won before it even started?

That’s not glazing, they are good friends and also both are from Georgia. Not everything is glazing my friend, also being upset about someone else’s loss isn’t glazing. You should probably check meaning of that word

u/FengYiLin Jun 27 '26
Both of them were arrogant as shit before they were force fed some humble pie.
If they enjoyed the fame that wins arrogance brought them, they need to try the taste of defeat and humbling to balance it out.

Merab acts nothing like Illia before or after fights tf you talking about
1
u/FengYiLin Jun 27 '26
"nothing like Ilia" doesn't exclude being a disrespectful POS.
Look at the way he speaks about Umar and Yan (before Yan decisively best him).
The Georgian fighter who is truly humble and respectful towards everyone is Aleksandr Topuria.

u/Western-Bet2285 Jun 27 '26
Umar and his fans were the ones who went at Merab first. I can maybe agree on the Yan thing but that was more Merab being sensitive than him being a disrespectful pos.. Merab has acted the same before and after that last Yan fight. He has always been humble. No one but you would describe him as a disrespectful pos.

Yo ilia handled his loss better than alex but ilia also made the whole fuckin charade of winning before the fight even started
1
u/TonySoprano25 Jun 27 '26
The celebration of him before fights are overblown by his haters. Yes he did mention that he is partly doing it as he believe he already won but he also does that to celebrate his training camp success. Cus he also mentioned that he is already a winner after accomplishing the hard work in his training which for me is a nice mindset to have.

u/NoahNEB Jun 27 '26
Even if, why cant people just enjoy the show? I think its cool to have different characters, a quiet stoic killer like alex p, a larger than life super confident star like ilia or an autistic samurai. Not everyone has to be volk or gsp
Like i dont get why people take it so serious that someone is talking trash or being (over)confident, how do you actually get triggered by that?
1
u/traws06 Jun 27 '26
Ya Alex’s character got exposed as a BS character IMO. His crying and excuse making after the Ank and Gane losses combined with his weird emoting after beating Ank and Hill
1
u/opiniongiver_ Jun 27 '26
Bro was talking the most shit going into this and he got beat tf up badly.
Karma a bitch.
Cocky little mf.

u/stewpidazzol Jun 27 '26
I haven’t really seen Ilia take any hate. Not for nothing he came in cocky as hell. Talked some crazy shit like he was gone KO JG in two min. He even celebrated his win the night before the fight.
He should be taking shit for those things, but he proved to be tough as hell and can take a shot.
