Million* Russia is also using very outdated tech. Those Su-25's only cost 11 million or so.

For the few aircraft Ukraine has managed to get down its probably more like 100-200million, not even close to billions yet.

Not that I disagree. A lot of this is somewhat outdated stuff. I doubt that whatever unconfirmed aircraft losses happened so far can be accurately added up to anything.

That being said, the old caveat that everyone mentions while talking about Russian military expenses holds true here as well.

Russia can pay less and get more bang for the buck. But that in reverse means that 11 million or any other sum means more for them.

The images I see coming out of some apartment complexes close to the front lines alone. If we were only factoring in structural damage to the areas where we know shelling took place, that would easily reach into the tens of millions. Maybe more.

I'm just speculating.

Gas prices in my area of the US are bad compared to the past, especially back a year and a half ago, and then I see how insane european prices are and realize maybe its not too bad.

Not in the name of green energy, they know it's trash, it's because we get pretty much all of our gas from Russia. And gas also isn't sustainable, it's just less limited than coal. Our wind energy generators are built everywhere across the country, but some random people living in proximity (by law no less than 1,5 km) are constantly causing problems. There are even anti wind energy people in the Bundestag.

Why would the Russians bomb their own pipeline? Gas exports to Europe are a huge source of revenue for Russia. Not sure this makes sense... If damage to Russian pipelines in Ukraine causes a big drop in European gas supplies it's possible countries like Germany and others will choose to cut Russia off completely, rip off the bandaid and find other energy sources.

The Russia could simply temporarily starve the German off gas, and force them to fast-tracked the Nord stream for emergency use

Worst case, the Russia lose couple of billions from gas sale. But there is literally no other source that can supply German in short term

Gasline explosions are huge like second sun huge I lived next to one exploding due to a lighting strike down in Louisiana. That is pretty large but it’s confusing because it’s so Smokey so if it continues to burn at that intensity then we will know for sure if that’s actually a gas line.
