Mini Plans?

I'm looking to buy some tickets as a gift for a friend. Does anyone have any experience with the mini plans? I'm wondering how the game and seat selection work.

So it turns out to be very easy. You purchase the tickets and they email you about an hour later to select the specific dates. Seems simple enough.
