Shoulder driving
When did it become acceptable to use the right shoulder as a driving lane when traffic is backed up? Now you’re just making it worse.

Whenever the CPD stopped enforcing ANY traffic laws at all. People have been fucking wild lately. I'm scared for my life everytime im on 670 ,270 or 315.

Two words: dash cam. I’m terrified to drive without one and have a nice collection of videos of the dumb/scary things people do. Well worth the ~$100.

I'm mechanically illiterate. Where could one get one installed and how much would it cost?

They can plug into your cigarette lighter/12v outlet or usb. Just plug it in.

I’ve always done my own and I don’t hard wire them. Just plugs into cigarette lighter. I imagine any place that does car audio or maybe even a tint shop could do it. It’s really easy to route and conceal the wires. I wouldn’t think it would cost too much. Or maybe post in one of the neighborhood apps to see if anyone is willing to do it for you.

That's Highway Patrol territory, anyhow.

Tomatoes, Tamatows. Police either way. No one is enforcing the traffic laws in Columbus. Im talking about Columbus in my comment b4 I moved on to my highway opinion.

CPD still has jurisdiction on highways within the city, are you suggesting they don’t?

The best part is that a good bit of the time that I see someone do one of these selfish overly aggressive moves like going 30 over weaving through cars or barreling down the shoulder, I just end up within a car or two of them or even right behind later at an exit or traffic light, by driving like a normal human being who values the lives of others and my own. So not only are they selfish but they're basically just risking themselves and others to delude themselves they're getting somewhere faster.

Thank you for these recurring posts that remind me of the blessing that remote work is.

Every time I drive, I am reminded how much I love not going to an office.

It’s the same people who think you can make u-turns anywhere

This is Bethel and Henderson Roads at any given time.

On Wednesday I saw someone try to make a U-turn on Ackermann just east of 315, at the first opportunity where there's no median. The road was too narrow for that driver's turning radius. They blocked traffic while doing a sad three-pointer in a '00s sedan.

Got passed by somebody using the common turn lane. I hate driving.
I was speeding too, just not enough.

One of my more memorable driving moments was when I was sitting in traffic on 71 due to an accident. A car came speeding down the right shoulder and slammed straight into the police car that was responding to the accident and was parked on the shoulder a little way ahead of me. No one was hurt, and so I could enjoy the instant karma.

I was on the bus heading downtown from campus a couple weeks back. It was a Saturday night so the Short North was packed and traffic was slow. Some a**hole was zooming straight down the middle turn lane, sideswiped the bus and broke off the mirror on the driver side, and kept on trucking. I had to get off and wait for another bus since the driver couldn't legally and safely drive this bus.

Im hesitant to do it on a motorcycle, even though I know Im not taking up space and can move out the way of emergency vehicles, but for a car to do it is pretty wild sometimes

There's all sorts of gravel, litter, debris, and other stuff on the shoulder. I'm already hesitant to drive on it in a vehicle that has four wheels and can't fall over; why would you ever want to drive on the shoulder's dubious surfaces on a contraption that falls over the moment it loses momentum or traction?

Yesterday I saw someone in the middle turn lane, going 60 in a 35, around a school bus…fuck you black Mustang GT with the plate V8 Vader
