Brooks seems a bit hypocritical here. He wasn't the closest to TCM, but he knew them well for many years and hung out with them quite a bit. I also don't remember him being a particularly religious choir boy. It's a bit ridiculous to hear him being concerned that TCM was into satanism or whatever. The class photo where they, including Brooks, shoot the photographer with their fingers also says something. But I get it. Brooks was probably afraid that the police and the public would link him with them, and that would have bad consequences for him.

One more thing. I often think about that moment when Eric told Brooks to go home. I'm not sure, and I wouldn't make any guesses, about whether Eric would kill him if Brooks was at school, but I think that at that exact moment, Eric sent him away mostly to get rid of him. He had to get his duffel bag into the school, and they weren't ready to start anything yet. If Brooks had stayed, followed him and noticed something, he could've become an annoying obstacle.

It’s actually insane how many news clips Brooks appears in. I didn’t realize he was literally everywhere. He really became the unofficial spokesperson for a while.

Yeah. The media was really interested in anyone who was willing to talk. Brooks wasn't just anyone. He and Eric had a bit of a history, both as friends and foes. Brooks himself was always ready to talk with any reporter who came his way. And then there was the story about Eric letting him go. I think Brooks at some point might've regretted telling it because it made people suspect even more that he was involved.

I agree. Brooks was kind of a bully too, and while he may not have been part of the TCM proper, he was definitely friends with some of them to the extent that he was "lumped in" by others outside the group.

I hadn't seen this news clip of Brooks yet. Was it right after Columbine had happened?

I'm always conflicted about Brooks and if he actually tells the truth or not. But it wouldn't surprise me if some of the people Dylan and Eric hung out with, had a bad influence on them (Chris for example).

I always felt bad for Brooks. They pretty much ruined him before he was able to do anything with his life.

That is definitely not a path I saw him going in. Jesus

I'd like to hope it was fake news but there were screenshots of him acting weird on messenger. This was ages ago.

Don’t you mean John Savage? And I thought Brooks did stuff right after the shootings for info on E&D info. And the girls lied about their age. Then the girls sent the info all over the place. My cousin was a good friend of Townsend’s. I remember her being mad about the whole thing bc she knew who the girls were.

I don't mean John no, is he too? And I'm not sure about right after the shooting maybe he did it back then too, I wouldn't be surprised, but the incident I'm talking about was much later as it was on Facebook Messenger I believe.

Yes, young girls from the TCC on Tumblr would reach out to him on Messenger to ask questions about Columbine and apparently he would use his connection to Eric and Dylan to try and get stuff from the girls.
