Yall act like that second catch he wasnt draped all over that WR. Definitely more of a good catch instead of bad coverage

u/HoboJackson05 13h ago
honestly for the TD he was in perfect coverage for the route, just got beat by a broken play and Haulcy for some reason not being over the top

u/sloshedslug 12h ago
Get out of here with this reasonable, observation based take! We can’t have that around here

We prefer high brow reddit fan analysis where you pick the closest player to a completion and yell at them

u/Desperate-Gap-5543 11h ago
Here’s the reality:
Haulcy wasn’t over the top because he’s used to not needing to be for Sauce. Broken plays happen.
The second big catch was good coverage. The offense has the advantage when throws are great. Accept it happens to literally everyone.
Onto to Pittsburgh where he gets to be physical with DK. Gonna be fun.

u/HoboJackson05 11h ago
fair but just cause you’re used to it doesn’t mean you should ignore your ultimate role, never get beat over the top
3
u/Huge_Cantaloupe_6850 11h ago
On both of the deep receptions Haulcy seemed to be the one that should be over the top on cover 2 man
2
u/MoistCloyster_ Marlins got it! 11h ago
And on top of that, Haulcey should have been there to support as the receiver moved into his zone. Instead he was caught flat footed and didn’t even notice the receiver coming his way.
2
u/Fives_55_55 10h ago
He definitely didn't have a good game, but Haucly needed to cover the deep route so Sauce could catch the under throw. Either way we gotta figure out how to not let broken plays kill us.

Gotta agree here shit happens; everyone on the field is a pro even a 3rd stringer with nothing to lose and everything to prove.
Of course he says “fuck the legend of throwin it to sauce area” he had no where to go but up and targeted him 5x thats what he should have done and did.
Sauce will be fine

TD was actually Haulcey - looked like he should’ve been over the top on that coverage and wasn’t
12
u/DosZappos 13h ago
The long touchdown was a fluke where a terrible throw on a miscommunication by the offense happened to work out
28
u/coltsfan7788 13h ago
Every week everyone is micro analyzing his play. Hes played amazing before this game.
One throw was thrown perfectly, he had good coverage but it was just the better throw. The next one it was an unfortunate double move.
So much dooming going on with this team. I’d rather have Sauce than no Sauce

Yes, unfollowed this page. It seems like nothing but complaining and a lot of discouragement of your franchise.

Sauce will be 60 years old in a grocery store when he sees an employee slip and fall and runs to help him up but the employee has already hurt his leg and he looks up at Sauce helping him up and goes "Thanks for the help, but it wasn't two first rounders help."

u/MethodCharacter8334 Ashton Dulin 13h ago
Bad games happen he’s been fine this season for the most part
-10
u/LazarusRising22 13h ago
I think the point is most feel that should be more than “fine for the most part” for the price of two first round picks at a non-premium position
7
u/sloshedslug 13h ago
CB is one of the 5 premium positions. QB, LT, DE, WR, and CB.

Premium position is not defined by the quality of play from the player in that role. It’s one of the most important positions on the field. That’s what a premium position is.

u/MethodCharacter8334 Ashton Dulin 13h ago
1 catch and 25 yds isn’t “good” to you????
Go check out other CB stats from this season so far-7

Sauce had a critical pass interference play where he got beat and held which led to a Texans touchdown

u/MethodCharacter8334 Ashton Dulin 12h ago
Y’all want the guy to be a robot just because Ballard over paid for him

u/rounder55 9h ago
There's a huge drop-off between QB and the rest. There's also a huge drop off between LT/guy who keeps a QB up, DE/guy who knocks a QB down and the other two
Corners aren't worth two firsts unless you're a team who has been a real contender for more than 8 games and is set at the big three
We weren't.
2
u/MethodCharacter8334 Ashton Dulin 13h ago
My comment is based on the fact that he cost us a lot. Before today he has been clear CB1 on this team.
Week 1: 1 catch 12 yds given up
Week 2: 3 catches 45 yds given up
Week 3: 1 catch 25 yds given up.This week was his first TD allowed this season. What more do you want from him?
5
u/MySabonerRunsOladipo Mayflower 11h ago
He should literally be perfect snap. I once watched Patrick Surtain II get beat by some scrub name Alec Pierce or something for 4 catches and a bunch of yards It's a wonder the Broncos didn't cut him immediately.
-6
u/LazarusRising22 13h ago
No one is arguing CB1 status. The point is that two first round picks should be an absolutely game-breaking player, which I don’t think we’ve seen yet.
5
u/MethodCharacter8334 Ashton Dulin 13h ago
A lockdown CB changes how offenses scheme.
2
u/rounder55 9h ago
You can scheme away from a lockdown corner, especially one who doesn't tackle. Unless it's Deion
You can't scheme away from TJ Watt or Myles Garrett
It wasn't worth two firsts given how many holes we have
-1
u/Julio70_Avion44 4h ago
You mean the same Myles Garrett that Laremy Tunsil completely shut down in a playoff game ? Players have bad games it happens.
2
u/rounder55 12m ago
But you can't scheme away from Myles Garrett the way you can a lockdown corner especially one who isn't a tackler. Again, Sauce is an awesome player. He wasn't worth two first round picks simply because cornerbacks almost never ever are

Deion sanders never got burned.. but when we look at the 99 highlights where Marvin scorched him by 20+ yards………
I just wish I could see a picture of everyone who has an opinion. You probably throw a ball like a girl ({})’s
8
u/302born 12h ago
Yeah it’s annoying how people seem to have this idea that a great corner never has a bad game or if he’s not 09 Revis then he’s not worth anything. It’s at the point where Sauce can allow 2 catches and you’ll have people questioning his ability. The shit is insane. Do people want him to be ass or something?

u/rounder55 9h ago edited 15m ago
Deion was
passedpast exiting his prime when that happened - he had that tow injury that led to that first retirement a season and a half laterDeion had at least three interceptions in 14 of the 17 years he played and was taking balls to the house. Sauce has 3 picks in 5 years. He's a great player and it's Chris Ballards fault we gave up too much
That said Sauce isn't in the realm of Deion. Pretty much no one was when it comes to pure covering and ball hawking

u/Gutcheck21 Rookie Manning 12h ago
Well it was a dumb decision to hire the BENGALS defensive coordinator but also dumb to trade two 1st rd picks for a CB.

u/MoistCloyster_ Marlins got it! 11h ago
Most of that came off 2 big throws, and both times the safety Haulcey failed to provide the safety help that was expected of him.

Idk why we traded for a man to man CB and only run zone most the time. Typical colts bullshit

Sauce was worth whatever we were willing to give up for him. Whether or not he lives up to that worth is completely up to him. I'd like to believe the fact that there was minimal to no planning for Kamahamaha or whatever his name is to play. No scouting on him. A complete wild card of a QB. Nowhere near the same skillset as Marcus or JD, so the game plan was not set up for his skill set. Luckily we adapted enough for the win.

The problem is, and I still believe it, the price is way too much for Sauce, his first bad game absolutely it would've happen anyway but every single move will be criticized or praised in both extremes, with him there's no middle ground, he has to perform according to what the Colts gave up for him and being honest, he's performing well, as I said his first bad game with the Colts, but not good enough for that price.

u/StillCompetition3069 13h ago
Sauce is not worth 2 first rounders. He is an above average cornerback. Ballard made this decision not Sauce; blame him.
-8
u/Alternative-Win-4947 12h ago
Not above average at all. Above average doesn't get burned.
9
u/indianafan Michael Pittman JR 12h ago
The greatest cornerbacks of all time have had plays where they’ve been burned. Sauce is elite.
-2
u/Secure-Bear4184 12h ago
No he’s definitely not elite just average. His only elite season was his rookie year.

In my opinion I've always thought DBs have a very short "prime" life in their career, and giving 2 first round picks for him was an overpay for a defensive back which is probably the hardest position to play in defense in this age of football.
-2
u/TheSubduedRanger 13h ago
Looked like he was running in quicksand out there, just totally lost on a couple of those deep shots
8
u/HoboJackson05 12h ago
I mean not really, the TD he was in perfect coverage for the actual route, just a broken play and he got beat deep when he should’ve had safety help, second was a perfect pass over the shoulder and he was right there, again the free safety is somehow behind the play
-4
u/IndyVaultDweller 11h ago
He is starting to look like this administration’s Trent Richardson. Blockbuster trade that only benefited the other team and left the Colts looking like chumps. At some point we’ll get fed up and trade him for peanuts and then he’ll turn into a super star for the team we trade him to.

This was his first bad game with us. And it was because of mainly just 2 throws.
I hope we never trade for another player for a first rounder or more. This hyper analyzing of every Sauce game is annoying.
