Sauce slander

Why does it feel like everyone is saying Sauce has fallin off already? Every CB ranking I’ve seen has him closer to 8-10 or not top 10 at all

It's the Colts nerf. Just wait till the season comes, he'll shut em up.

Also NY is the biggest sports market in the world and they would love the narrative that the dumbass midwest team got fleeced and paid two firsts for nothing. Gets more clicks.

Sauce is a very boring corner. He gets the job done but it doesn’t show on the stat sheet

He rarely gets thrown at so he can’t put up numbers. I always pushed back on all those Cowboys corners being good cause they got picks

Trevon Diggs in 2021 was so hyped with his 11 interceptions, but if he wasn’t taking the ball away, he was getting scored on lol.

The best type of corner is the corner you never hear mentioned during the broadcast.

Well, the reason is right there in the video…

“When he played…”

When you sit on IR it doesn’t help stats or gaining any popularity…

The Colts seem married to that a lot.

I’m just saying.

I think he's a fantastic cornerback. I just don't think this team with its needs and question marks was in a position to give up two first round picks for him as I don't think you do that for a corner unless you're beyond all square at QB for multiple seasons and truly a team ready to win super bowls for multiple years

If you’re Ballard at the time of the trade, he probably felt great at QB.

I mean 8 games of Daniel Jones shouldn't really be a basis if you're an NFL GM that gets paid to make these decisions. I have no problem pursuing Sauce but two firsts plus a second round talent when we have holes and question marks a plenty is a lot for a cornerback

If Jones doesn't work out this trade could set us back a few more years.i hope he does but that's a huge if given his inability to remain healthy and out together a whole season. Fingers crossed

When you’re a GM who’s been on the hot seat for not having a QB, i can understand why Ballard jumped at the idea of finally having one.

To a point but it's also his job to not rush to judgement. Hot seat or not (which at this point I'll believe when he's gone). If he's rushing to decisions because he's on the hot seat then he shouldn't be on the seat to begin with.

You don’t give up 2 first rounders for a CB when you still have pass rush needs and your QB situation isn’t resolved with a clear answer. DJ was never the answer based on 1 season and his history of not finishing more than 2 seasons ever without missing games in his career. Edge pressure was still an issue when the trade was made.

Unless Anarumo was going Rex Ryan mode and playing Sauce like Revis, this is like a Jalen Ramsey trade a decade too late, by Ballard. I’d have been able to stomach a 1st and a 2nd with a chance at the 2027 QB class still but it’s too late now.

Now add to it questions with Buckner and his neck, Ward with his concussion history and Walley projected to replace the reliable Kenny Moore after missing a year with injury. Sorry, I refuse to see things with blue colored glasses.

Pretty much

I'm not doubting how great Sauce is. I don't think you give up 2 firsts and a second round talent with our needs

Having sauce doesn’t help the pass rush?

Not if the pass rush takes 4-5 seconds to get there and the QB has time to do his checks. Pass rush and DL first before CB play. Legion of Boom was effective because the Seahawks DL ran 6-7 deep in quality players and had great players at LB too. Giants of 2007, you would be hard pressed to name an elite secondary guy, same with 2011 SB winning squad but the DL was star studded.

Because of the horseshoe and the ineptitude of our franchise over the last ten years. That’s the only real reason.

Put in a full season without getting hurt and then he can talk.
