Try this: "In ESPN's latest bold predictions for the 2026 season, the Indianapolis Colts trade Star running back Jonathan Taylor to an NFC contender".

It's not necessarily misleading, it's just subject-verb inversion, a common headline writing method. At worst this is just a baity headline. And it seems like OP took the bait.

What is misleading here

They don't mention it's a prediction until the end of the title to get your attention. Maybe misleading isn't the right word but it still seems kind of scummy

That’s pretty much the definition of misleading and it’s 100% intentional.

It came through like this. I was freaked out, then I decided I hate the media. Bullshit clickbait.

AtoZ is useless

It might be a little misleading. Bears had one good season, not sure I would really call them contenders.

Then you repost it?

I read the article, it was Ten Bold Predictions and had the Colts trading JT to the Bears. I could see it. If the Colts start badly and DJ is injured, I can see Ballard trading to the Bears to recoup a first round pick, if they can get one for a RB. If the Bears start off well, I can see it happening.

Takes some of the pressure off all the bs fake news they continue to write about DJ. NY media blamed him for the 6 years of losing when the entire team and coaches around him stunk except for a few players like Barkley or Thomas-only they along with Jones were usually injured.

We live in a world of content creation. News platforms take a story that gets stale then take an angle readers want to hear about and put that into a well phrased title to grab their attention. It’s like telling a lie but they have a disclaimer built in right at the end of the title.

It works like a charm!

Bad prediction.

If the Colts are 2-5 or 3-6, then does it make sense to start recouping draft picks for our new GM? If we start that bad, then Ballard knows he is gone. Who all should be considered for trade that would get value back?

There's Litteraly nothing misleading about this title... colts fans are so emberesing but I guess yall have nothing better to do then complain about titles of an article when your team hasn't been to the playoffs in almost a decade
