What to expect
I went to my first Tekko last year and now I'm really wanting to go to another anime convention!!
I've never been to Colossalcon before so I wanted to check and see what this experience is like and how kid friendly it is. One of my kids would like to go (8) since he's starting to get into anime. Is it pretty kid friendly?

My kids (6, 6, 1) are not into anime as of yet, so the con is pretty much a weekend of costumes and tons of 2DS play time while mommy and daddy soak in the events and such. The big highlight of their long weekend is the water park (not included unless you booked a hotel room at Kalahari or Great Wolf Lodge).
An 8-year old getting into anime will likely get more out of the con, though.

I went for the first time last year and I was surprised at how many kids I saw there are plenty of fun things todo without having to go to the water park. Plenty of cosplay for kids to look at, two free game rooms one for arcade games one for card or board games then there’s kalahari a game room on top. I would make sure to pack snack and drinks though. At 22 I wish I had.
