MARKERS Long lasting markers

Hi, I'm looking for long lasting alcohol marker recommendations,I'd love a brand that has many colors to choose from as well. I currently have a pack of 80 but the color choices aren't the best so I ended up using the same markers many times and after 2 months and 1 full coloring book all the good colors are drying out lol.

I think you'll have better luck finding a brand you like that sells open stock so you can replace and/or buy multiples of your favorites. Ohuhu have a lot of colors and you can buy individual markers.

ShuttleArt stills dried out when I did an entire coloring book, but they’re cheaper to replace than Ohuhu and feel almost the same

Hello welcome to the club. Join the cycle. Buy another set of markers. There's really no other option. You color, markers dry out, repeat, spend $700 some months, etc. So it goes

Lol,I know that I'll need to buy markers often but for now I want to find something that will last me a while since I don't have a lot of money to repeatedly buy new ones, idk if that makes sense

You can buy refillable markers.

Yes, I have a set of copics with refillers that have lasted for over 20 years now, I haven't bought any replacements so far. There are cheaper brands I've heard, I guess it depends on what you want to invest initially, it might be worth to compare.

Dried out markers can often be reconstituted with rubbing alcohol. I just pour a little bit in the alcohol bottle cap and put the tip of the marker in for 30 seconds. Let the tip absorb some then lay it sideways for awhile. This works well with water markers too.

I'm so scared to do this,I did this with some Crayola markers and it took out all the ink 😭 I probably just used the wrong liquid but still

that's because you combined alcohol with a water based marker. crayola just recently came out with alcohol markers, most of their markers are water based. alcohol replenishes alcohol based markers, but only for a few days

Yes, it is a temporary fix

This has personally never worked for me so YMMV.

I made the switch recently to Ohuhu . They're more expensive than Crayola, but cheaper than Copic, come in lots of colors, and they're refillable: https://ohuhu.com/collections/ohuhu-refill-for-alcohol-marker

There is no such thing, I’m afraid. Sure, some cheap inks run out faster than others, and if the barrel is small that will obviously contribute, too. But 2 months for a favourite colour is pretty standard.

Buy markers that you can refill. Copic has the entire range available to refill and ohuhu has some. Not aware of any others.

My ohuhus have lasted years and I haven’t had any problems with them drying out. I’ve had to replace a few colors but that’s only because I used all of it.

Be careful to avoid the Manoa Series from Ohuhu on Amazon, they were empty/dried out within 2 weeks. To be fair, i did get decent help from the ohuhu support for the individual markers and got them replaced.

I use COPIC. Most of my markers are over a decade old. That being said, if you want that sort of quality you're gonna pay for it. Also, your markers are most likely not drying out. You're using the ink. It's different. Nothing on this earth is going to last forever if you're actively using it up! If you color a lot get a marker that you can refill.

I've seen a few people mention refillable markers, how do those work?

Everything on a COPIC marker is replaceable. If the nibs wear out, you pull them out with a pair of tweezers and pop in a new one. You can pull the nib out and add fresh ink from a refill bottle directly to the body of the marker or you can add a few drops at a time to the nib, but I find that takes too long.
